I am not sure why you think that would weaken the tories grip on the country.........I may be wrong but when this was suggested a while ago Im sure they said it make it more likely for the tories to rule the country. I cant give you a reason but Im sure that was said at the time.
Who is Father of the house now with Ken Clarke and Dennis Skinner having gone? Jeremy Corbyn, Bill Cash, Redwood?
I don't think ANY party with sort this current of majority will allow PR . They are all power mad . I want PR , but IMHO it won't happen when a GOVT with a huge majority is in place .
Ok.......... Im not sure that will keep the tories out though. Certainly not by the percentage of votes they got this time..........how do you think PR would stop that?
People need to face up to the idea that we now have him here until 2024 at least! No point moaning, no point complaining. Its happened. Klopp has signed a new deal. Double bad news!
In this instance I don't think it would . This has been a very unique situation IMHO . I mean even Derek Skinner lost his seat . So in all honesty in this election , I don't think anything would have changed it . This may appear like I don't know , that's because I don't . This is utterly utterly unique IMHO .
Yep I am prepared to admit defeat too. Not 100% happy about it, but Brexit is happening and Boris is here for 5 years. Let's see what he does. I think I know how this is going to end, but I won't beat myself up over it as I cannot control any of it. We had a choice last night and it has been done.
sadly that is true...........Wouldn't it be wonderful if Johnson actually did what he has promised. I feel for a lot of the worse off people though I am not convinced this bunch will benefit them...........
I had to chuckle at Emily Maitlis' obvious embarrassment at her misidentification of a No10 flunky as Sajid Javid opening the car door for Boris. Probably an easy mistake to make given the Tories attitude to ethnic minorities. Sajid will probably get a job serving the drinks at Chequers.
How long will it be before those that blame the EU for all their woes, wake up and realise that their troubles have always emanated from the government? It will be too late then, though, because many of the protections we receive from the EU will be wiped out, especially in the work place.
I'm really not sure the labour party has a future. I can see it splitting again into the socialists and maybe another new more central labour? Their views are clearly so far away from their original voter base, I really dont see where they go. I quite like Jess Phillip's, as shes honest and speaks from the heart, but I fear the right-wing media would destroy her.
I think it has a future , it will be difficult , but I honestly do . The media in the UK will destroy anyone they want .
Like that horrid evil thing called the EWTD ? Lots of companies will be loving the removal of that 100%
Exactly. Cummings writes the script, the media lap it up. Nelson Mandela or Gandhi would never have been successful in this country.
