The Spastic Tim Blogger at the DR gives his drooling retort to The Spastic Hun Blogger at the DR.ANOTHER week, another Rangers fan blogging about Celtic fans and their apparent obsession with all things Rangers. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
The fall of Rangers has captivated world football and the reaction of the club has been of great interest to fans of all clubs here in Scotland.
From boycotts to bans, from angry letters to angry fans it’s been one ill-advised, hubristic disaster to another for everyone involved at Ibrox.
For someone of a more sympathetic nature it might be tough to watch, not for me though.
Celtic are the benchmark once again in Scottish football. From winning the European cup, to 9 in a row then appear in the UEFA cup final. More recently winning 7 from the last 10 league titles, Celtic are the standard bearers of Scottish Football. Back where we belong.
Rangers chased the dream to emulate Celtic and they nearly made it. Unfortunatelywhen the Tax Man came calling, the game was a bogey and the club, along with all their achievements were consigned to the bin. Emulating Celtic was a dream too far.
Nowadays for Rangers fans and the club it’s all about validation. Desperate to be seen as comparable once again to Celtic despite the fact they couldn’t be further away. We are, literally and figuratively, out of their league.Years trudging their way back through the divisions, playing their football at every footballing backwater in Scotland for the last few years, spending fortunes on overpaid under talent players, staying in 5 star hotels to play part time teams and where do they find themselves? Back at square one. Back trying to emulate Celtic.
The business model, the players, the competitions, the stadium and the manager. From the boot room to the boardroom there’s not one part of their club that they wouldn’t swap for ours. We shouldn’t be offended, in fact imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I’ve made my position clear on my club, Celtic are in transition and more importantly the future of the club is secure and our history hasn’t been “bought and sold”.
Our model of bringing in young and under developed talent then making them into 12 and 13 million pound signings whilst remaining competitive in all competitions and securing the future of the club IS the future of business model of all Scottish Scottish clubs should be following and we are leading by example.
To have a club like that criticised by the fans of Rangers, is like having a homeless guy slag your curtains.
Sure you could argue that we’ve been affected by the lack of competition but that’s something we should look at every club to provide, not just Rangers hope and pray that by some miracle New Rangers return to being a club of the stature and prowess of Old Rangers.
Mediocrity, or worse, has been acceptable for the rest of Scottish football for far too long.

I heard a tragic story recently about a man who had a beautiful and loving wife, but who couldn't see the good in her. He longed for his single life, and so he sought a divorce, got one, and celebrated his new life on his own without the woman who had annoyed him so much.
Fast forward a few years and the man is a broken shell of what he used to be. His existence has become pointless. He still maintains he was right and that his life is good, but literally everyone either laughs at him or pities him.
That sad man in denial is Celtic Football Club. They will never be man enough to admit it, but they didn't realise just how meaningless their world would be without their closest neighbour, Rangers.
Celtic manager Ronny Deila has led his side to the top of the table but it means nothing without Rangers
Look at Celtic: being top of the table in the Scottish Premiership means nothing without Rangers by their side.
The champions are a mess: Kris Commons barked at the management when substituted against Molde recently, and now Anthony Stokes has openly challenged the manager's decisions.
When Rangers were around, Celtic knew they had to stick together to have the best chance of being successful. Without Rangers pushing them, Celtic have become a mess.
What kind of club gets knocked out of Europe twice before December?
The shocking sharp decline of Celtic has happened with Rangers fighting their way back up the ladder. In July 2012 Rangers found themselves at the bottom of the Scottish Football League, in November that year Celtic beat Barcelona 2-1 on a glorious night.
Since then Celtic have been an embarrassment in Europe, culminating in a shocking shambles this season, a low point leading to Ronny Deila declaring a TV reporter's question was stupid, moments after his team had lost again to confirm a bottom-place finish in their Europa League group.
Who's stupid?
Some Celtic fans have devoted their life to hating Rangers – they still try to claim the side currently top of the Scottish Championship isn't actually Rangers – they say it's a new club formed after summer 2012, and they are campaigning feverishly for Rangers to be stripped of their titles.
These aren't fans of football – these are people so worried about the decline of their own team, they have to seek new ways to deny history and put down the only club that can knock them off their rather meaningless perch in Scotland.
These fans even claimed success when the club signed Scott Allan from Hibs right under the noses of Rangers in the summer.
Allan said he joined because he wanted to play in Europe, well he played in the final game, and was on the pitch for the final 18 minutes, long enough to see Ajax score their winner. Sad times when a once great club has to resort to sneaky signings to keep the fans happy.
Scottish football put itself in the wilderness with its ridiculous punishment of Rangers three and a half years ago. Celtic celebrated, but it marked the start of a horrible decline towards embarrassment for them.
They will never admit it, but Celtic fans can't wait for Rangers to return. They will be celebrating if Mark Warburton's side win promotion this season.
