I think I'm on neither side of this argument. You can only win the league you're in. I think Rangers were quite right to celebrate winning SFL3 - they couldn't possibly win any other league and, I know they'll outspend everyone, but if McCoist takes them up every year until they're in the SPL, that will still be a unique acheivement. I don't think winning SFL3 was harder than winning the SPL, though.
The reason Celtic are 1/50 is Rangers fault , if you had abided with the rules you would still be in the league , but as you didn't you had to go to the bottom of the ladder and start again . If you return to the big league , you will have to obey the rules hence no cheating , so I imagine the bookies will still see us as a 1/50 shot
12 moments that defined 2012 (FIFA.com) Wednesday 26 December 2012 Rangers go under 14 June Rangers’ perilous financial position had been an open secret but there was still shock when, after 140 years of history and a world record 54 league titles, the club was consigned to liquidation in mid-June. The Glasgow giants were subsequently reformed as a new company and granted entry to the Third Division, Scotland’s fourth tier, which they currently lead by nine points with a game in hand. http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/news/newsid=1977017.html
Why do stupid Huns degrade the spl , yet continually mention that their old club won 54 of them and the club have even put 5 stars on their jerseys . Felt sorry for poor Bayern Munich the other week for only having three .
What happens to new clubs when they think they qualify for Europe? Derry City are refused entry to Europa League by Uefa Derry City have been refused entry into next season's Europa League competition by Uefa. The European football governing body has taken the decision because the club went into liquidation just over two years ago. That led to a European ban for three years and this is the final year of the Candystripes' suspension. Derry would have been guaranteed at least 110,000 Euros for participation in the competition. The re-formed club, with support from the FAI, asked for the rule to be relaxed but Uefa refused to relent. On paper, Derry's third-place finish in last year's Airtricity League Premier Division should have earned them a Europa League spot. Derry City chairman Philip O'Doherty received the bad news in a phone call shortly before lunchtime on Tuesday. "Because the new club has only been in existence for two years - not three years - we had to apply for a derogation of the rule," said the Derry chairman. Play media "We paid a lot of football debts that were nothing to do with us, but from the previous club but apparently we're not going to be accepted. "I've just spoken to the manager (Declan Devine). He's absolutely gutted as are the rest of the board." The club does have the option of launching an appeal to the European Court of Arbitration but O'Doherty said that this "hugely expensive option is unlikely". "We're going to have a look at that when we get the statement but it would be unlikely that we would be successful. "We did a very, very good application and the questions we were asked, they were answered positively. "The amount of money we have spent taking care of previous responsibilities, I would have thought would have been enough to basically bend the rules. "The players will be gutted as well, not getting the chance to play on a larger stage and with the success they had a few years ago and obviously the recent success of Shamrock Rovers. "It's a big, big disappointment for everyone involved."
But the one star on our jersey actually means something and the world respects it , while everybody laughs at your five stars knowing your club had the most failures at trying to win the big cup
No, don't be silly, no one laughs at Bayern because they command respect domestically and in Europe - same as Juventus & other teams who have stars representing league wins, because they all have fine European pedigrees to go with it too. The buns command zero respect, which is why the whole 5 Stars on your jersey issue is so laughable - it's something to cling to because, really, there's very little else. Even then, it may not be there forever, as at some point there's a good chance Celtic could overtake your league wins, yet we all know there's more chance of finding rocking horse **** than Rangers winning a European Cup Celtic, for example, are fondly remembered for the Lisbon Lions, what they achieved in '67, how they achieved it and with local players etc et al, which is why that 1 Gold Star is worth far more. Rangers in Europe are remembered for one thing and one thing only: being the only team presented with a diddy European cup in the changing rooms due to the chimps in your support rioting on the pitch
1. Us, it's feeble. Much like your other array of "world records" 2. No. They're multiple times champions of europe.
