Ha, ha, ha - what a joke - £6m cash to be raised from a new share issue which he may not be able to do if he doesn't comply with the Takeover Panel and make his own £11m offer to buy out other shareholders ... & then there's the little matter of the £3m owed to Close Bros and other debts/outgoings! Roll up, roll up, mugs! King doing what he's best at - taking the piss out of their fans once again ...

Steven Gerrard's appointment as Rangers manager had the entire world talking about Scottish football for the first time in years. It quickly reminded everyone that, for all of their success under Brendan Rodgers, Celtic are very much still playing second-fiddle in Glasgow.

The Liverpool icon's imminent arrival has generated headlines from Los Angeles to Tokyo, and pretty much everywhere in between, and is a genuine box-office signing that is going to make next season much more interesting for both sides. Everybody has been talking about the Rangers manager - with some of the biggest names in football tweeting their congratulations - while Celtic securing seven in a row barely merited a mention outside of Scotland. Celtic's fans have even spent the week since Gerrard's appointment - and their side winning the league - talking about little other than the new Rangers manager or some fairytale involving SFA licences.

With Gerrard is yet to take charge of his first game, nobody knows how it is going to work out for the 114-times capped former England star but whatever happens, his appointment has put Rodgers under far more pressure to deliver than going up against Mark Warburton, Pedro Caixinha or Graeme Murty ever did.

Celtic fans already have their side getting to a tenth title in a row and if Rodgers fails to secure the title next season - against a rookie boss no less - he'll be on the first train back to England pleading for a job somewhere. There have been some absolutely wild names thrown about as possible summer signings when Gerrard arrives at Auchenhowie to take charge on June 1. While the likes of Wayne Rooney and Fernando Torres aren't likely to be spotted strolling down Paisley Road West any time soon, someone like Peterborough United's Jack Marriott could be a perfect target for Gerrard and Mark Allen.

The 23-year-old hit the net 33 times Posh in the 2017/18 season and reports have said there is interest from Ibrox in the former Luton striker. Gerrard is almost certainly going to want to make huge changes to the squad of the summer and bringing someone like Marriott, who has potential to make an immediate impact and move back down south for a much-increased fee.
If Alfredo Morelos is to move on in the summer Marriott could be a perfect replacement for the 21-year-old Colombian striker and should give Gerrard someone in his side who knows where the goal is.

It would be big step up for the striker from England's League One but if Allen can negotiate a good deal with Peterborough he could prove to be a fantastic signing. There will also need to be some genuine, proven talent brought into the squad over the summer with a couple of central defenders and a quality creative midfielder something that has been sorely lacking.

Getting a name of the magnitude of Steven Gerrard to Scottish football should be something that is going to help get the level of players needed to launch a serious title challenge to Celtic next season - even if it doesn't necessarily mean seeing some of Gerrard's former team-mates suddenly appearing in blue. With only three weeks until his arrival in Scottish football, I'm genuinely struggling to remember a bigger signing in Scottish football than Gerrard's - Paul Gascoigne 's signing in 1995 is the last really big one - and the eyes of the world are trained on Ibrox to see just how he gets on in his first managerial role.

Whatever way it goes at Ibrox for Gerrard - and just like 12 months ago I expect that Rangers will take the title from Celtic - his arrival has quickly reminded everyone that Rangers are the only show in town.

When people tell me it's boring watching Celtic win everything I would point them in the direction of utter delusion like this to show why I'll never get tired of grinding Rangers into the dirt.

Eh...I'm no expert but, was that guy Roy Keane not a bad player?

Was it 7 premiership titles he won?

To Rangers? A team that was pumped out of Europe by a group of fisherman who'd never scored a goal never mind won a game in any European competition?

Nah, I don't think it's a big step up, pal.
