Wrong on both counts, Russ. Example 1: HMRC hounded Rangers via the EBT case which made us unsellable - it's irrelevant now as the past is the past but that's what happened, in summary, but we now know that, in the most part, Murray acted within the law regarding EBT's. Example 2: This is a more pertinent point. If HMRC knew that Whyte personally owed them £4m, then why allow him to run up a further £14m in several missed payments relating to PAYE/NI/VAT? That just doesn't happen in my book. I know that as soon as he missed a PAYE/NI payment, they normally issue all sorts of letters and threats, but if Whyte was known to them, then waiting 9 months before acting just raises so many questions that I don't have time to get into but it just shouldn't have happened. Rangers were subject to a criminal act when Murray sold to Whyte and we should not be punished any more. Rangers should be hypothetically awarded the last 3 tainted titles and reinstated into the SPFL.
I was of course being facetious but the people who said HMRC's pursual of Rangers was a "Witch Hunt" are cretins. That was the point I was making.
Utter ****ing bollocks. Rangers diddled the tax man got caught and the tax man went after them aggressively for everything they thought they could. Rangers get out plan was to liquidate the club and steel more money from the tax man alone with load of other people and create a new club get off scot free from the SFA/SPL but fans told them to **** off with that idea. Rangers where a ****ing disgrace of a club!
Replace Rangers with Whyte and you're bang on apart from the last sentence where you need to replace club with man and in the second sentence, replace the first club with business and the second club in the second sentence with holding company.
