Scottish cup semi at ibrox- Rangers v D United?

Rangers get 37,000 tickets

D United get 13,000 <confused>

What happens if Albion win? do they then ask United to please take more tickets now <laugh>

More slapstick from the SFA.

Jim Jeffries having a Craig Levein rant about the ref at Ibrox yesterday . Clear penalty to the pars , player booked for diving , sevco player fouls par player who in falling to the ground handles the ball another booking . The worst was Moshni over the ball , a straight red anywhere in world football only a booking yesterday , Mc thug got in his two usual elbows that went unnoticed again .

I'm looking forward to seeing Rangers in the SPFL if only to see McCulloch getting a showing up every week.

Difficult as is it is now to imagine but Rangers were once keen on bringing Neil Lennon to Ibrox.

As a 13-year-old schoolboy footballer with Lurgan United and Northern Ireland Under-14s the future Celtic captain caught the attention of several clubs in England and Scotland. Among them were Rangers, who at the time were managed by Jock Wallace. Neil was even invited to Glasgow to take a look around the Ibrox stadium and meet Northern Ireland international Jimmy Nichol.

Rangers at this time still operated their vile and shameful sectarian signing policy but in his autobiography Lennon states that he was at least given the impression that the interest was genuine. However, perhaps unsurprisingly, Rangers did not follow up their interest. Given the hate fuelled and bigoted reaction of Rangers supporters to Lennon throughout his time in Scotland it looks like Neil had a very lucky escape.

<laugh> It's on a fair few sites but I saw some boy stick it up on facebook earlier.

Its in his book that, letter and picture. He looked uneasy there even then!!

I've never read an autobiography or biography of a footballer.

Lennon's might be alright compared to some, at least he might have some stories beyond "The gaffer was good to me" and "Winning the cup was the best day of my life".

I've read Keane's and that's it. Got the Guillem Balagué 'Messi' biography to read but haven't started it yet.

Not really my cup of tea, either.

Have only ever read Roy Keanes and Lennons. Mainly because they are both nuts and thought there would be some good stories. They were decent enough

Oh and i vaguely remember reading one about Eric Cantona. Not sure if it was an autobiography though - he was truely nuts
