Well what a day that was. The weather was horrendous and so was the result. Going out into the country on the first circuit Fred sat just off the shoulder of the leader as planned. Going out into the country second time Fred looks like he’s hit a fence but carries on only to be pulled up, lost a shoe. Just got home freezing cold sopping wet covered in mud. The winner koyote looks a machine, anyway,
    Happy new year.

Sum it up makes his first appearance at ampton ptp tomorrow to compete in the novice riders race. Amber fennel-Jackson gets the leg up. She has quite a media profile with an interesting back story. We’re not fancied, the grounds not a problem so no excuses and he didn’t have a hard race lto.

Go Fred. Have you learned anything yet FP as regards; ground, distance etc?

Ptp are mainly three miles and he won on heavy twice and good ground once last season. He was described today as workmanlike which I considered a bit of an insult. He never wins by much but a horse hasn’t passed him yet jumping the last. He got beat at dingley late in the season last year but he made a mistake and hit one but rallied to finish third. I’m not afraid of the opposition tomorrow and hope to get a decent price on him. I’m not sure but we could win tomorrow and not receive a penalty which the trainer is mindful of.
As long as he comes back safe we’ll be happy and there’s no Tom Ellis and Gina Andrews to contend with.

Just back from ampton where Sum it up finished second three quarters of a length down to the winner Buachaill Dana.the jockey Amber fennel-Jackson gave the horse a nice ride so no complaints, beaten by a better horse on the day.

One of "Fergs" in third I see with Kaitlin riding the 13 year old Frankly Speaking. The formerly half decent Monkey Puzzle back in fourth too.

Interestingly Fergs amateur Tom Broughton also had a winner for one of Fergs former owners. The family had a share in one that we had in training, which was moderate to say the least!

Looks a decent result for Sum It Up.

Use the Snipping tool and paste straight in. If it's still too big snip a bit less of the picture, or right click on the desktop, and in Display settings, Scale and layout, temporarily reduce the scale and clip that

Tom Broughtons winner at ampton? We’re over the moon with him. We always get a run for our money and hes always involved at the business end of races so far occasionally you bump into one in top form like yesterday.
The trainer has a nice workforce gelding which won yesterday. As there are not many about he might be looking to sell.
