Daily Star (yes, I know) says KL is set to offer Poch a 'bumper new deal' to secure his long term future.

Think that would be an excellent idea and gesture.....

BUT - we know contracts don't mean much

AND - I would say he's unlikely to sign one before the summer and if he turns it down, the rumourmongering in the press would be a monumental pain in the backside.

Thoughts?

Good to offer him one, would be great if he signs one.

I think it would be another good PR move from Katharina. Hopefully it is true.

Also, if she appoints Williams and gives Pochettino this new deal... I will be really relieved and quite relaxed.

From what he's said previously, I'm not sure he really want's to be here for the long term. He seems quite reluctant whenever he's asked about it.

That's fair enough considering the current uncertainty. If someone like Williams is appointed and KL is able to provide reassurances and £, I'm sure he'll begin to consider things differently.

The only info which has leaked from dealings concerning players, managers or anything else has always come from outside the club..
Can't see either MP or KL leaking stuff to the press. Can I have a nice large pinch of salt with that?

Not necessarily. The club is arguably worth more with the manager tied down.

Exactly. BBC seem fairly sure John Williams is going to be the chairman, too.

If he can establish a good relationship with Mauricio and himself and Katharina can get Mauricio to agree to stay long-term it looks far better. Mauricio said she told him she wants the club to be 'stable'.

Williams is a responsible pair of hands and quite well respected, so to have him in charge and Mauricio tied to a longer deal would appeal to a potential buyer, I'd say.

Far more importantly than any potential buyer, if Williams comes in and Poch commits, I'll feel an awful lot more relaxed about life too :)

If MP doesn't sign, Louis van Gaal says he fancies the premier league. He had an approach by spurs, which would be ironic if he ended up here. Who knows, Total Football could be back!

If Katharina gets Mauricio tied down...(sorry my mind wondered then :))...to a new deal I would kiss her feet. It would tell us that MP was happy with what was going on, which would calm any remaining nerves. Don't think Mauricio showed previous reluctance when a new contract was mentioned...it was up to Nicola to open talks not a journalist. Let's hope The Star is right for a change...though we have to remember that they go from 'might happen' to 'certain' in 5 msec.
