Blimey, this is really sad and a shock.
After one too many heating arguments he and I met for a few pints about three years ago. I enjoyed his company and he bought me tea and we never talked (argued) about football once, or barely.
I've not been on this forum for ages, didn't know he was ill. Big shame.

Oh ****, I'm genuinely upset by this awful news.
We had some heated banter Dave and me, but I always knew that we could have shared a pint, as deep down I knew he was a sound Scouser.

I think Dave gave me both barrels the first time I posted on this board as a manc. All I'd said was hello!
We will always have our rivalries and our disagreements and the banter when it comes to the clubs we support, but the one thing we all have in common is the passion for the sport we follow. How else would many of us even get to know each other (albeit on an internet forum) and spend the time we do talking to each other. It is the community we build that brings us here and keeps us coming back. Although I didnt know him as much as many others, I spoke with him enough to know Dave was a big part of that.

Can't say I agreed with, or followed, all of his arguments but he was always 100% steadfast in his support for his club, his fellow fans and of course the music thread. So whether you agreed with him or not, he definitely showed everyone how genuine fans keep the faith.
