Dave always said that the music thread wasnt his it was for everyone. Under the circumstances though he'll have to put up with it as it's a nice way for us to remember him.
R.I.P Dave. I was online when LuvGonzo first posted the message last night and, whilst shocked to hear the news, I didn't feel it was right to be the first to respond as I am a long-term lurker on the site, but not a poster: Muppetfinder General could always get to the point far more easily than I ever could.... Dave seemed a really good guy and well-informed. A true fan. I'm going to see Steely Dan tribute band - Nearly Dan - up in Glasgow on Saturday night. I know the guys in the band reasonably well. I'm going to ask them to dedicate a rendering of Pretzel Logic to a fellow Red. GKRK
FFS - Only just seen this. I'm so glad I made the music thread, as I know Dave spent many an evening sipping on rum posting and listening to music - it almost became his little safe haven. Dave and I shared many stories about the Caribbean, sometimes it felt like we were there together at some point. This has really saddened me, as Dave was such a nice genuine, passionate man. I will miss him tremendously, but never forget him. A Scouse Legend that loved the sea - my kinda guy. R.I.P My Brother Dave
GK. Pretzel Logic was my choice as it's my favourite track ever and I know Dave was a big fan of the Dan. I've seen Nearly Dan too and they're very good. I've seen the real thing three times though. A fitting tribute mate. Nice touch
Yea that's a done deal. I'll 100% get up this summer, been far too long coming But a toast to Dave is definitely in order
Sad times. Enjoyed my run ins with the old get. We secretly got on via pm too. God bless him and his family. Going to see if I can get a diploma in foredeckdaveisms.
Guys, As promised, I went to the Nearly Dan gig this evening and our man got a mention. Apols all round for the choice of song ('Don't Take Me Alive'), but hopefully Dave would've appreciated the irony. Nice mention at the close of the song, BTW... GKRK.
Hi Guys I've taken a break from the site for a while (popped my nose in once every once in a while) but felt the need to pay my respects to Dave. One of my favourite posters on here, I had many a laugh and debate with him. Will really be missed. A formidable presence lost to our board Please pass on my respects to his family... YNWA alone Dave.
I think everyone's already put everything far more elegantly and touchingly than I ever could, so all I'll say is RIP Dave - it hasn't been the same the last few weeks without you, and now it won't ever be the same. A passionate believer. YNWA
Haven't been on here a while and just seen this. RIP Dave. I loved our lively discussions and always looked for your forthright remarks on any thread.....we shared similar backgrounds career wise and while our points of view weren't always aligned, our allegiances always were.....I'll really miss your candor on here.
