Who said they didn't? <doh>

It has **** all to do with the topic at hand though.

I'd answer more fully, but I'm trying very hard to keep the politics part out of it as much as I can.

The national anthem is called god save the king. Its not got anything to do with our country or its people. If people prefer royalty over some ex politician as a statesman then i get that but i really would like us to have a national anthem that we could be proud of
I think lot's of people are proud of it, but I do take your point that one which is more about the country itself could be a good thing.

As OLM’s lad said on Twitter, if you simply abolished the monarchy the Scousers wouldn’t have an opportunity to boo the anthem <party>

So irrespective of the fact that none of their gripes were due to the Monarchy, is that trying to say that Countries without a Monarchy don't have an Anthem?

Seems a ****ing silly argument to me for what should be obvious reasons. <laugh>

Who said that, because it certainly wasn’t me?

So what exactly where you trying to say?

Scousers wouldn’t have an opportunity to boo GSTK if there was no monarchy, because we wouldn’t retain that as our national anthem if we became a republic.

Let me guess, this is the part where you delete posts and lock the thread and claim victory in the argument because of the ‘no politics’ rule.

Says the person who lacks basic reading comprehension.

I read your post as it was written. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Now, please post something on the topic rather than boring folk with your usual inaccurate personal comments.

Even the most ardent royalist can surely understand why someone who doesn't believe in a monarchy or God wouldn't be keen on our national anthem.

It seems silly as a Trust to pick at that argument really.

It's not about being pro or anti and I'm no fan of Liverpool as a club, it was a divisive, unnecessary comment from a group that should be creating and maintaining cooperation between all supporters, because you never know when you'll need their support.
