Basically, we've all seen what happened to Puncheon. After some inconsistent performances, the crowd turned against him, his form fell and it never came back, and we haven't seen him in a Saints shirt since. That was what, a year ago?
But now the same thing is happening to Guly. Yes, he may be inconsistent and have bad touches at times, but as the stats say, he has the most assists for us and 2nd most amount of goals!
What I'm trying to say is, if the crowd keep giving him stick, he's only going to get wore and the Puncheon thing will happen again. Let's learn from our own mistakes, get behind Guly, and hopefully good form will follow.
 
The Puncheon thing happened because he is a total cock. The Guly thing happens as he looks lazy as **** to some people. I don't and never have booed a player, but everyone is different.
 
Completly agree, flair players need the confidence to try things without being scared of the reaction if they dont come off. Complain to your mates or whatever after the game if he's been crap but during the match lets get behind the whole team.
 
everyone that was there today will know that guly was the best player in the first half and the start of the second and despite what i believe was an appalling miss ( couldnt see the other end very well) the saints fans didnt get on his back which was good

I was there, connolly was our best player.

It seems to suite him more playing in midfield I think that was his main posistion at his old club

We all know by now your opinion of Guly, give it a rest, he is not lazy, just economical with his effort, there is a subtle difference.
 
I wish we'd get behind all the players, all the time. Even if they play in place of one of our personal favourites.

I can say whatever I think about Guly so no I will not give it a rest. I can voice my opinion when ever I like.

If you know my opinion then you would realise that I have said he is a good player. It's just he appears lazy. At home his form is class he just needs to carry it to the away games.
 
Guly is always full of surprises seems to quite quiet at times and then scores 2 cracking goals.

The problem isn't your opinion of Guly, it's the fact that when he is on the pitch, in order to get the best out of him and get results, and hopefully get promotion, we need to get behind him, giving him support and encouragement, and then he should perform.

I agree no point in slamming players at games. Isn't really going to help isit.

You have said it again, he appears to be lazy, doesn't mean that he is, I value your opinion but I don't agree with it, that is my right.
 
There are some players that I would boo but no-one who plays for Southampton!! Namely, Suarez (good player, but play-actor supreme), Thierry Henry (great player but why did he feel the need to cheat) and Cesc Fabregas (deliberately got Arteta sent off in a match involving Everton and Arsenal some years ago!! Little SH**!! Then of course there are the pantomine villains, Terry and Barton!
 
haha this is stuped. if i was a low prem club like wigan i would easily pay 4-5 mil for guly cos the guy has a different style of play, and style of play wins us games. you call him lazy but tbh i dont think lallana looks like he put more effort in?
