Whoever of Burnley and Sheff U miss out on the autos are going to be absolutely gutted and could easily be on a massive downer going into the play-offs. Perversely, we were never realistically automatic contenders - at least according to everyone outside of Sunderland - so we could, and should, use the last dozen or so games to re-group and play ourselves back into form in preparation for the play-offs. A fit and in-form SAFC are a match for anyone in p/o contention. That's my glass half full head head on.
And we need the fans to get behind the team. There are no excuses for leaving early. Team need our support for 90 minutes, and applauding off the park. We are all in this together. There are no excuses.

Our drop off in form has been really worrying, just looked it up and its a proper decline.

Last 10 games - 6th in the form table
Last 8 games - 8th
Last 6 games - 12th
Last 4 games - 17th

Need to turn this around and really fast or that gap will be closing very quickly.

Sheff Wed are in much worse form than we are so there are absolutely no excuses on Friday, for what has become a must win.

Genuinely hope Sheff United win tonight then maybe just maybe those who think we’re good enough for top 2 will finally realise it isn’t happening.

That's one of the most ridiculous posts I've ever seen anywhere ...

... you genuinely hope any chance of Sunderland being promoted is ended?

Even if a Sheff Utd defeat just prolongs the possibility of it, surely that makes our games more interesting.

With the news today of key players out with injuries I think we first need to confirm playoffs then the hard part is to go into them with momentum and form with the key players back.

You might be right there <doh>

Wouldn't like to predict tonight’s game though, depends which Leeds side turns up

It's all unpredictable which is what makes it so interesting.

People have insisted Burnley will go up and other people have insisted Sheff Utd will ...

... I believe they play each other so they might both drop points there.

The Sheffield derby should be quite a game this season, Wednesday are in with a chance imo..

Le Fee and Ballard out for 2 months i would not play them again till the play offs and rotate the team, bad transfer window though squad not big enough. any of Leeds, Sheff U or Burnley can go up they seem to be lucky with no injuries etc one team could slip up, i hope we don't. i would fancy us against Blackburn, WBA,
Boro, Watford but not Coventry or Norwich. but need the full team but that is nearly 3 months away. When does the summer window open ?
