Joey Barton may well re-sign - I seem to recall that Carlton Cole has done this several times at West Ham United.

I hope so; as I value his efforts on the pitch - not the most talented of players - but one of those players who always gives his all.

He can't re-sign for us unless we offer him a new contract.

According to the offie we won't be doing that!

Very good decisions there IMO. Sad to see Bobby go, but we can't be too sentimental. I hope the club will move on from Barton, and a lesson will be learnt about signing players who think they are bigger than the club. Now, more importantly, who is coming in!

The Faurlin decision is a poor one mate. The boy's knees are shot

are you on the medical team at QPR? You seem very sure! Yes, he's had two bad injuries both the same, but apart from knowing that, no ones knows anything further about the lad's condition to date, unless they are privy to inside info.

In relation to Faurlin I know an amateur Gaa player from Cork who has has the same injury 3 times and come back and was one of the best players in the league and one of the top scorers too. Colm o Neill from Cork so I wouldn't say Farlington is finished yet

There's only one Alejandro Farlington!

So the cull begins, CR not hanging around. Can't disagree with any of those and I'm enjoying a pint in celebration of finally getting shot of that leech SWP, cheers Shaun!
The old softy in me is also pleased that Ale Faurlin has been given another chance, and Clint Hill has himself a new contract and also deserves the freedom of W12.

Offering a new deal to Clint Hill is utter madness. I love the guy's attitude but he gets roasted more often than Aunt Bessies potatoes. He should have been given a coaching role - a good bloke to have around the club, just not on the football pitch!

In addition to potential coaching, and assuming his wages are low, on a one year deal, Clint could also fill in at CB, he's a great header of the ball - never as a LB though.

For Ale, if a only a one year deal at reasonable wages, it will determine if he has returned to full fitness after his surgeries on both knees.

Both Clint & Ale represent are "the right sort".

You Sir have it spot on!

Sorry, I'm still in shock about SWP being released....

You must log in or register to see media

Yes, I too am shocked at such a loss but we need to stay strong ....( weep) .... and pick up the pieces .... ( weep, more tissues please ) ... and move on.
If we band together, we may just be able to hold on.

Aqualung I'm no knee expert but if you look at the history of players who have had these kind of injuries they very rarely come back the same, sure he will regain his fitness but psychologically it's going to be extremely hard to try not to think that another injury to his knee will occur again. I've always liked him as a player and it's such a shame that the ShishKing doesn't have the same attitude.

Good to see decisions being made early and decisively. Can't argue with the choices. Now to deal with those in contract who we need to move on.

I also like hearing that the club are not making any comment about the new signings. Make the noise when the deal is signed No more of this boasting about what we are doing and having the rug, ignominiously, pulled out from under us.
