He's not playing he's just standing in the crowd. The supporters have gone a bit wimpy lately and they need some muscle at the back.
I think we need some balance though. The youngsters will need some experience in with them. A mixture is what is required imo, as long as the experienced players are the "right sort" (I'm not convinced that Hill is).
I'd still like to see him return to us, ala Carlton Cole at WHU. Put all of the 'background noise' to one side, he's a player who works hard and gives his all - a Jamie Mackie with a bad attitude at times - and penchant for the odd sly rabbit punch to the crotch, now and then!
Another player who gave his all - but will be exposed for his lack of pace. Sadly; too old and too slow. This decision seems to be influenced by sentiment.
id have kept dunne over hill. not sure why ale has earned a new contract although i love him and personally id have kept barton on reduced wages. can't argue with the others although sad to see OBZ go.
Agree with everything you say here; can't for the life of me see what Cling (Clint) has to offer on the playing side, if coaching aspect why not give him a coaching job?
Dunne was shot to pieces by the end of the season and was being run ragged by all and sundry. Barton had to go in my opinion as he represents everything that has been wrong with our transfer policy for the past four years. He had nothing to prove when he signed and came purely for the money on offer, he didn't care about little ol' QPR. Ale deserves another chance to prove his fitness as he is without doubt the "right sort" as is Clint Hill which is why he has a new contract.
A lot of people are saying that Ale deserves another chance. I am 100% in agreement, but it must be on low wages and a get out clause due to another injury. QPR must start getting tougher, we are not a charity.
I disagree. No doubt the money was a key motivator, but I think his attitude in the matches I've watched proved beyond doubt that he did care about Queens Park Rangers. Not least he's said as much on his Twitter feed over the last week
Either you're drunk or I am, Hoops. I am still not with you. I am saying that he can prove his fitness, but not on a long contract.
I thought you were saying that you didn't think he deserved a chance to prove his fitness, If that is incorrect I apologise.
I disagree Dunne was shot to pieces. He was never supposed to play every week so when asked to play in a shaky defence week in week out he was bound to look creaky. We were far worse when he got injured last season. However, IMO, a seasoned professional like Dunne with bags of experience would be invaluable to us next season as a squad player. He's also the 'right sort'. As for Barton, he's actually been one of our better signings over the last 4 years - his motives for joining are irrelevant Hoops - he put in a shift more often than not and was one of our better players this season. On reduced money he could do a job for us in the Championship. As for Faurlin, i obviously want him to succeed, but giving him a contract is a far bigger gamble than renewing Barton or Dunnes for a season. I feel there's a a touch of the 'throwing the baby out with the bath water going on' thats all.
