I don't suppose you could help me please?

I need to know the playing numbers for:

Raich Carter
Gary Brabin
Gareth Roberts
Gary Parker
Brian Horton
Keith Edwards
Ian Butler
Jock Davidson
Warren Joyce
Ken Houghton
Ray Henderson
Richard Jobson
Theo Whitmore
Stuart Pearson
Viggo Jensen
Stuart Elliott
Pete Skipper
Justin Whittle
Mally Lord

I think I know some of them but not too sure between the 8's and 4's, 5's and 6's, 7's and 11's and some I haven't got a clue

Thanks in advance if you can help me

Houghton 10
Butler 11
Davidson 2
Henderson 7

Reasonably confident about these.

I remember Whitmore wearing 23 but I think that was late on in his career and he'd previously had a lower number.

Whittle was 15.

Jobson 4
Skipper 5
Pearson 9
Garreth Roberts 11
Horton 8, 6 or 4 (Think he used all three)
Garry Parker 8, 6 or 4 (as above)
Mally Lord 8

You're not going to get one answer for most players from back in the day. Especially forwards. Obviously numbers were assigned to positions and not players.

1 Goalkeeper
2 Right Back
3 Left Back
4 Right Half
5 Centre Half
6 Left Half
7 Right Wing
8 Inside Right
9 Centre Forward
10 Inside Left
11 Left Wing
...................
12 Substitute

Surely Houghton was 8 with Waggy 10!!!
I thought it was waggy 8, wouldn't put money on it though. I seem to remember at that time most sides used traditional numbers, ie right wing 7, inside right 8, c.fwd 9, inside left 10, left wing 11.

See the video's from earlier in the thread Waggy was 8 & 10. Good to watch the vids for a bit of nostalgia anyway. I never realised how many times they changed numbers in them days but I was only was nipper then.
