Yes we know Mills was a failure after what we paid. Just like Campbell was before. But just because we spent alot more then that it doesn't mean your not taking a gamble. But as you say every signing is a gamble. But for you to pay 2M he will need to get at least 15 goals to say he was worth it
There's quite a few posters on our board who are in the services, many of them stationed in Germany, I'll take their opinion of Bundesliga 2 over yours any day of the week.
Still a good player it just didnt work here. We may have taken a loss on him but eventually when Kasper leaves we will recoup all the money Sven wasted
I saw the video "highlights" of this guy....I wasn't convinced..thats not cos he is going too hull... I could care less...this looks like a big gamble..mills was a so called stitched on certainty and looked what happened.... defending or justifing the signing without even seeing the bloke live, is a shot in the dark.. but time will tell who looks like a twat...
The 2nd bundesliga division is on par with probably League one/top of League two. I've seen enough games to have a valid opinion rather than someone who goes by what other people say on the internet The SPL, granted the bottom half is fairly dire, is actually better than what people make it out to be. Bottom of Championship/League one standard I would say.
OK, we should never have paid what we did for Mills, but he was tried and tested at this level. And there appeared to be no indication that he was a twat prior to us signing him. I have said before that the Mills and Beckford signings cost Sven his job. I wouldn't have thought Bruce would get the same - he's not under the same pressure to get you promoted - but I'd be slightly worried if I was a Hull fan. Bruce needs to remember he's in the Championship now, and £2m is a lot for a player than has never played at this level or in this country. And it's well known that the Championship is the best second tier in the world and better than some first tiers.
With regard to a Leicester player, I'd take the opinions of the posters on your board over a few games I'd seen on the telly. As for the Bundesliga 2/SPL comparison, it's so wide of the mark, it's not worth commenting on. I'm not really sure why you lads have any concern over what we pay for a player, we can afford it, remember our owner has far more coin than yours.
OLM without having to google it name me 5 teams or players from Bundesliga 2 Not including your new striker or his club
Ummm. Don't know about that Proud. I think the top teams in the Dutch, Turkish, Russian and Portugeuse leagues would beat the top teams in the Championship. And the bottom teams in those leagues would beat the bottom teams in the Championship. But I think that sides like Leicester and Hull would survive in the those top flights. There's obvious a degree of overlap.
Its not about how good the top teams are from the divison. Its about how competitive the divison is as a whole and how big the gap from the top to the bottom teams are.
I know our new striker is a big lad, but I don't think he actually qualifies as a team. As I stated, my comments on Bundesliga 2 come from English lads who regularly go to watch the games in that league, I have absolutely no experience personally. Just as I never watch non-league football, so have no idea if Vardy is the next Messi, or is just a bit Messy.
Forest twice former championship winners got relegated from the championship, so did Leeds. Newcastle, Man City, West Ham have spent time in this league In which country would you see teams of that stature in the 2nd or 3rd tier
Well my friend's brother lives in Munich and he goes to all types of matches and watches them at home, as does my friend when he visits. He said the Germany second tier is on par with the Conference, which I think is a slight exaggeration.
You never watch non-league football? Not even when it was on Setanta Sports? It was quite entertaining. I used to go to Ilkeston Town a lot when I was a student and Leicester weren't playing or were away.
Actually, I do occasionally go to watch North Ferriby United, but I didn't think it was relevant to what was being discussed.
I saw them on the tele? Nah. It's not like half my family is German and they're massive 1860 Munich fans I'm not sure why I bother replying to anything you ever say because it's always miles off the mark. Just pack in and go back to your board, no one will mourn.
