Last year we took a run at it with the lads including Diallo running through walls for Uncle Tony. We ran out of steam and Luton overpowered us fairly easily.

If the lads manage to keep fit and Beale inspires them who knows. His playing style could reduce fatigue and injuries so it’s not out the question.

I am looking for hotels.

Any views?
For the Wycombe game we stayed at the Premier Inn in Elstree - far enough away from Wembley in case we lost and wanted to drown our sorrows, but close enough that it wasn't a pain getting there and back.

Charlton & Portsmouth we stayed at the IBIS at Wembley and it's a depressing place to be when you are sharing the hotel with opposition fans

Having said all that, I don't think it will be an issue this season

It's not, but there are better teams than us going to be in the play off positions. Even if we sneak 6th then I wouldn't fancy playing Ipswich, Leeds or Coventry for example

Realistically there's only two places up for grabs and we've as much chance of taking one of those as any of the teams in the race imo.
Once there the playoffs are a lottery, an on the day who plays best scenario, 46 match form goes out the window, ask Luton.
It's down to who keeps they're nerve and our lads have proved they're more than capable of holding theirs.
Yes our football this season isn't as pretty as last, but we've managed to lose a manager and his incumbent is starting to get us playing with a more consistent style which needs a bit of patience with some.
Put this thread back up on 1 st March and things might be a lot clearer.

We did beat Leeds tbf and drew at Coventry ...

... as the 5-0 against Southampton shows, anything can happen.

Ipswich's form is dreadful at the moment, the worst in the top half I believe.

Incidentally if Norwich or Coventry make the play-offs will they have 'sneaked it' or made it on merit?

Not like you to be negative :)

It's based upon our results. We lose too many games, top and bottom of it. We're eighth with a large number of our points coming from the goals of one player. Somebody could step up if his form dips, of course, but that's not happened so far.

Nothing negative or positive about it. Just the way it is.

I think its unlikely but purely from a simple maths perspective.

Too many clubs in and around it. Realistically there's 2 spots between 8-9 clubs. And I don't see any reason why we should consider ourselves more likely than say Boro or Coventry.

Is there any reason to consider ourselves more unlikely?

No. But even if we are equally likely, from a simple maths perspective if there are 10 teams in the hunt, that leaves us with about a 1 in 5 chance. Which I would consider unlikely, personally.

Even if we say there are only 8, its a 1 in 4 chance
