One British one American so bound to be differences, Banshees were an influence as were many of the British punk acts but the Americans took it somewhere else and created a great sound imo, lots of blues influence with The Gun Club but a love of British punk driving the noise.Although I would have associated them with the punk era and similar punk sound, I wouldn't have put them in the same category as banshees, or maybe I unconsciously did.
