I'll be honest I wouldn't have sold him, and especially for less than we paid (we paid more than £2m and he's surely a better player now) however I'm not entirely surprised to hear that he wanted away from Norwich. I heard an interview with him on Fighting Talk on 5Live a couple of years back, very probably around the time he scored against United, and during the banter he said something about of "being stuck in Norwich with not much to do for entertainment" which suggested he wasn't perhaps massively settled in the area.

To hear that he has been unsettled for more than a year doesn't actually surprise me massively, and that along with those little niggles that he kept suffering may be a factor behind the decline in his performances. I don't remember him having a big positive influence on too many games last season, I think he needs a change of scenery to get his mojo back.

The only part of this transfer I can't understand is why sell a quality player to a promotion rival?
If we're selling to the prem or bottom half championship I can sort of see why it makes sense, press today reporting figure is around £2m Mark, but if he stays fit he can really help Cardiff push on, who by the way I feel will go up this season. Very odd.

Good player when fit but he hardly ever is. So on reflection I can see the sense in this, he is the proverbial 'sicknote' and I doubt he'll start many games for Baadiff, we move on <ok>
