We haven't had a poll on here for yonks, so I thought i'd post one....

It's an easy either/or question about who do you think is the better player..A 23 year old Morgan Schneiderlin playing in Mauricio Pochettino's team here or Pierre-Emile Højbjerg currently playing in Ralph Hasenhüttl's team?

It's worth remembering that Morgan was almost unanimously voted into the Saints all time XI vote that I ran on here a couple of years ago, but I think that Pierre is even better personally.

I would request you to make your choice objectively and not favour Pierre just because he currently plays for us and Morgan left us.

For a moment I thought this was a thread about Piers Morgan. Which makes it a bit of a worry that I clicked on it.

At this stage of their Saints careers PEH probably is ahead. Morgan kept on improving though, so we'll see.

On another note, Yan Valery is the Saints player who excites me the most at the moment. Not sure if he counts as "one of our own" or one of Renne's own, but I think he will be the latest off a long line that appeared to have stalled for a bit.

What is it about him, out of interest? I'm still really on the fence about him.

<laugh> Put me on the ****ing spot, why don't you?

If I just say, he looks the real deal, you would be entitled to respond with "wtf does that mean?"

But he looks the real deal. Strong in the tackle, wants to run with the ball when he can, good close control...basically an athlete with skills. Still very raw, but reminds me a bit of a young Gareth Bale (no, I'm not predicting he'll be in that class).

Hey, calm down, calm down! You've answered my question right there. <cheers>

I like him, he's good all round. I'm just yet to see that 'je ne sais quoi' about him.

In this household I am not allowed to even suggest that Morgan ever existed. She has never forgiven him for leaving. You know what women are like - they never forgive and never forget. I think it was this picture that finally did it.

There was a certain assurity and calmness to Morgan’s game which I’ve not seen in Pierre.
They’re very different players, even if they play in similar roles and Hoijberg plays at a much higher temper which has its pluses and minuses

That picture would do it alright. He got married without wearing a tie?

True.... but after the last red card, yesterday he played with tenacity without breaking anyone’s femur.... in the grand scheme of things.... that’s possibly as calm as he gets....

Morgan was great value for money even at 1.2m when we could ill afford it.

I luv the passion Pierre has and hope he is an integral part of our team for many years.

I think whilst Ralph is here, we have a great chance of keeping him.
