Clearly we have an excellent side. If you could add one ex Sunderland player, from your time watching the lads, to add to the side and make a difference, who would it be?

I settled on Bent. I know it was short lived but he was borderline the perfect premier league striker. And he thrived when playing the lone striker role. I think he would love playing in this side and would be close to 15 goals a season.

I did really think Phillips. How can you leave a golden boot winner out. But I just thought Bents style of play was a better fit.

I'd go for a 'peak of his talent' Kieron Brady with RLB and the coaches giving him equal measures of guidance and freedom.

He was Amad before Amad was Amad ...

... totally unafraid of big lumpy defenders, ignored inflated reputations and with a talent that was inbred not practiced.

I missed his Roker Park debut, by accident, but the lads still talk about it ... still gutted.
