I used to live near Kevin Carr (Newcastle goalie for anyone too young) too in Bedlinton. Mirandinha lived there for a short while too (Beaufront Park). Didn't last long though, we were knocking on his door daily. There was a crowd outside everyday. I think he got a bit sick of it <laugh><laugh>

Had a couple of celebrity encounters in my life.

My youngest one was getting a smacker on the cheeks off Cheryl Baker - off of then Bucks Fizz at some Eurovision Song Contest thingy in Birmingham.

I was also in an episode of Spender when it was on the telly, and Jimmy Nail shouted at me and tried to take my camera off me when I tried to take a photo of him....he looks even uglier when he's angry !

I tried to get Kieron Dyer's autograph outside the players entrance once when he played for us (when he wasn't crocked). Thick ****er couldn't write with my fountain pen though so I missed out ! - Not really a very good celebrity story that one, but funny so thought I'd put it in !

I've played at SJP twice in the last 3 years during the summer, and met Beardo the first time, and played against him the second time - lovely bloke.

Met and talked to NUFC's greatest hero of all time, the late, great Jackie Milburn.

No airs or graces about him, just an honest to goodness ordinary guy who was happy to give me his autograph.

Talked to Supermac a time or two also, but didn't ask for his autograph.
