My Mrs went to Filton Ave Junior School and was in the same class as Larry Lloyd, her only memory of him was he had a runny nose and always wiped in his sleeve,my memory,he was a fat bastard and ended up running a pub in Nottingham...
Funny, different memories, different people, especially when you put them together,he was a big fat bastard, with a snotty nose, which he wiped on his sleeve in an old pub in Nottingham.......![]()
Shame you couldn't find room to express the record of one of the most successful Bristol born footballers. Lloyd played for Bill Shankly's hugely succesful Liverpool where he was a regular at CB replacing Ron Yeates. Liverpool's training and fitness sessions were well known as the physically toughest in the football league. Then on to Brian Clough's Forest where he was even more successful. He played for England and was a European Cup winner.
He was a big lad but in his playing days never a fat b....rd
Oh! Of Course! Now I remember. Bill Shankly bought him from Bristol Rovers. All is explained!!.

I would have to agree with you Sapphire, for fans of a club that are doing fairly well, they ain't half touchy and bitter.
