Footballs a funny game mate anything can happen,i said a draw for the Hull but obviously hoping for a win and i expect Fryatt will score lol. Good luck after saturday
Fourth-ed. How can Person change the team - we have no alternatives but Sven's dross until we have a clearout in the summer. Read http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/132273-Midfield - just wrote about where the problem is.
The problem is the midfield The dont offer enough protection to the back 5 and dont create enough chances for Beckford and Nugent We are scoring goals for fun on the road at the minute but our defence keeps conceding because the midfield doesnt offer enough protection
ruddy heck. 2 sensable Foxes fans. like it. Yes and same to you as well. I actually dont mind leicester really but that goes back to Filbert Street days and Messrs. Nish, Weller, Worthington and Birchenall for starters. Good luck after saturday caz.
And if we score 3 against forest at home 3 goals against a team like forest surely anybody wouldn't be able to lose that one.
Yeah 3 v Trees should be a win for sure. I mean they just ain´t scoring are they ? I can´t see then putting the ball in the back of the net more than 3 times in a game unless the team they are playing against are so **** it´s not football.
Personally, I agree with you ... but patience is in short supply in football these days .. Sven should have been given two full seasons in charge and press statements issued accordingly to end the hounding speculation after each game- I have great admiration for the Wigan Chairman, Daver Whelan - his committment toi his managers has kept Wigan in the Prem way beyond expectations ... yes they may go down this season but what's the betting that Whelan will give his manager full support to get back up if that happens .. and they play nice football.
Some sense - Morgan is not slow at all - for a big guy he is, in fact, quite quick - our problems lie deeper - we don't defend as a team
I agree we shouldn't have sacked Sven, I really felt that was the beginning of the end regarding getting promotion. But we did and that's history, so now we have to stick with Pearson. As I said last season when fans were calling for Sven's head, I believe any manager needs a summer before he can be truly judged. So I don't see Pearson going until at least October and only if we're still only sitting in midtable or lower. Sacking endless numbers of managers is a recipe for disaster.
We get caught on the break too much. We have to ensure a) passing and patience improves around the opponent's box and b) moves end in shots either on or off target, rather than breaking down or shooting when there isn't an opening. Too often a shot hits a defender and results in a break or a cross/corner goes wayward leaving us vulnerable. I'm all for attacking football, but we either have to keep possession or track back with speed.
Sack Nigel Pearson already ? Are you James lodge / TonyM in disguise ??? Given the summer NP will sort it out and your team will do better next season. pathetic how some fans don't give decent managers a chance .. Don't cry just because your not going up this season , I sure won't cry if HcFc don't make it and I won't want Nick Barmby sacked either . You need to learn that NO manager can walk into a club and be sure to get you promotion at the drop of the hat / wave of a magic wand ...
Back Nigel and he will get us up next season. He knows this divison and what it take to be successful in it unlike Sven People who are calling for his head need to remember this man
Im struggling with the logic behind a number of posts here. NP's record with LCFC before he was re-appointed is unquestionable. His success was based on creating his own team/squad. NP comes in and inherits Svens squad of disjointed big names. How can anyone judge NP using a squad that he hasnt selected. Anyone calling for NP's head is simply adding to our problems!
Are we saying the manager carries absolutley no resposibility for this situation? he bought morgan, st.ledger is a international, highly regarded, bamba is an international for a team that conceded 1 goal at the african nations, mills was accepted as one of the top defenders in this league...konchesky was with liverpool. peltier was highly regarded in div 1...and we can't put together a defence capable of avoiding three goals a game away from home..?come on..nigel has to take some blame for this...if he can only manage players he has actually bought ,then thats a big weakness....ref: martin o'neill at sunderland..he has bought nobody....be balanced in your opinions...pearson has failed since he came in...FACT...but he must be given time...tick tock...
Well looking at the most recent Sunderland starting 11. Only 5 are new to the squad this year. 2 of those 5, John O’shea and Wes Brown, have years of experience of playing together whilst at Man U (not a bad standard really). The other 3 are: 1) Sebastian Larson – who I think most will agree is a quality player that numerous teams were after in the transfer window 2) Craig Gardener – Who is a quality player and also played alongside Sebastian Larson whilst at Birmingham 3) Niklas Bendtner – Who was on-loan at, you guessed it, Birmingham City and played alongside Sebastian Larson (who is trained with as a kid at Aresnal as well) Also a mention should be made that Kieran Richardson, also in that starting 11, played alongside both O’Shea and Brown during the Man U days. So you can see the Sunderland FC squad haven’t exactly been changed much and where it has been changed all of the players are familiar with each other. Whereas the Leicester City 11 against Blackpool – only Dyer and Wellens were in the squad prior to this season! The players the NP has had an involvement with are: 1) Danny Drinkwater – has been on loan to numerous clubs but looks a real prospect. 2) Ben Marshall – Most agree this guy has got talent. IMO he looks like a real find even though majority of his time was in L1. 3) Wes Morgan – There is a thread on this very forum which cant give enough praise for this lad The rest of the starting 11 came from Svens purchases. None of whom have played together in any capacity and have come from a wide range of leagues all over the world. Its not difficult to see which manager has taken on the more disjointed squad!
I think Ben Marshall will be a quality winger in this league but i dont think he is ready to start every week yet. Just like i dont think Dyer is good enough to start every week. We need some more competition on the wings in the summer
