We finished 9th last season, without being able to win two league games in a row all season.
We are slowly replacing the high earners (Beckford, Danns, etc) with younger players with potential, on lower wages.
We didn't have Knockaert last season.

To be honest it is a bit of a conundrum.
It's true that we, as a club (whether the credit for it should go to Nigel, Walshy, the owners, a combination, whatever) have recruited some good young talent and, in that respect, the future, with their development / improvement should bode well
Now, if the good and bad run had been reversed we would now be looking towards next season with justifiable optimism - but, and let's be honeat - the manager would have been sacked for an earlier run of 1 win in 15 games.
As it transpired we are now faced with a degree of uncertainty - should Pearson have brought in (recalled) more experienced players to break out of that run? ... if not should he nevertheless have been able to 'manage' the team out of that run? - could it happen again? ... we have differing opinions on all of these - all valid in that we believe our respective 'gut feel' as far as it goes.
Whatever the Club statement says - all we can do is accept it and look to next season - end of.

For me, the level of my disappointment/frustration at a potential sacking of Pearson will depend on who we get in to replace him.

Hilarious. Even if what you just said about Pearson was true, you'd still need 21 other clubs to get it badly wrong for Millwall to go up. I see nothing but relegation in your future.
The stark truth is, Leicester have spent hundreds of millions of the dog eaters money trying to buy promotion - scummy old Millwall haven't even spent a million, yet next season will be the fourth consecutive that we have shared the same league - who'd have thought it?
The timing of managers being sacked is crucial and there's bound to be doubts in your owners minds about Pearson now, so how long will their patience last if he has a bad start next season?
If he goes now you have a chance to to get a new manager in with minimum disturbance, he will be able to make his own summer signings and have a proper pre-season with the squad.
If Pearson goes in (say) late September you get upheaval, a new learning curve for manager and players alike and the new man has to wait till January to make his own signings.
As we all know in the Championship things like that can make all the difference between success and failure.

If the reporting of events is true then I suspect Nigel will also have been informed of what is expected next season - and that will start from day one. He can't afford too slow a start particularly - and with all due respect to the promoted clubs this season - I expect next season to be even tougher in the Championship.
If Harry stays at QPR he will have a considerable war chest, not just from parachute payments, but also the mega-rich Lachmi Patel and Tony Fernades. Harry is also a very good manager and they will be my favorites to win the league - irrespective of who leaves from the current squad.
If Wigan hold on to their players (and manager) they will also be formidable.
Reading have a manager who is proven at this level and they also have the parachute.
You'd expect Blackburn and Bolton to both improve and Bolton already appear to be recruiting.
Leeds and Forest will both be a lot stronger
Brighton and the losers of the play-off final should again be up there.
Surprise contenders? - Charlton - Chrissy Powell doing a great job and they seem a very tight unit
Gonna be very tough - and I don't think FFP will have any great effect - there are too many potential loopholes.
I've given up predicting the Championship. As you say the relegated clubs will be favourites again as Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn were at the beginning of this season.
Consistancy and luck are the key. For long periods Leicester, Brighton, Watford and Crystal Palace all played 'sexier' football than both Hull City and Cardiff, but Bruce and Mckay managed to keep the points steadily flowing.
So will Leicester be more consistant next season. I reckon you will need a few more experienced players to add to the young squad, but Pearson doesn't really do experienced players does he?

Nobby Solano, Wayne Brown, Wes Morgan, Richie Wellens... he does prefer younger players but he'll sign experience when required. Like now.
