wait to drop Hamer and get his mate in could he? Hamer's done nothing to warrant being left out. If players are playing well they should keep their place in the team. He keeps players who aren't playing well, King & Vardy as examples, in the team. T***
 
Next week will be interesting, we should be able to beat Palace IF we get the team right, however Nige I suspect may chose to play Nugent in goal and hammer up front.
 
Getting a bit peed with NP's team selections, Albrighton crosses and big Was scores! Why the fook was he not on at the beginning to supply our multi million strike force with some crosses.
 
Nice for Wasilewski to get a goal, he's probably about the only player who can come out of that match with any credit. Manchester United could have been about 6-0 up at that point, if they'd bothered to get out of first gear. Agree though, it's a shame as with the right team we could have had a chance in that one.
 
... wanted us to go for it which is fair enough in terms of starting line-up ... but Hamer has been exceptional and no way should have been dropped today ... Drinky was bloody awful ... that one cross when he got to the by-line in the second half was pub quality ... looks a shadow of the player he was last season ... Nuge did OK when he came on ... but in a game that was already dead ... what I'd give to see Leo Ulloa getting on the end of Albrighton's crosses ....
 
For me that was the final nail in Pearson's coffin. He starts Vardy, Drinkwater and King in midfield and leaves Hammond, Albrighton and Cambiasso on the bench?! He is absolutely clueless! What was he hoping to achieve with that team? Hamer should be knocking on Nigel's door on Monday telling him to shove his goalkeeping position up his ar&e. Total f*ckwit!

No i still have faith in Pearson but he does genuinely need to sort out his selections a little. I dont mind losing if we have a right go but the selections are wrong. Hamer being dropped for a 42 yo is simply disgraceful

Ed, how can you still have faith in Pearson when you say his team selection is wrong? That is the very essence of what football management is about. It's about assembling the right group of players and then selecting the right combination to go out and do the job.

Yesterday I couldn't see what he was trying to achieve. Dropping Hamer so that he could play his old buddy Schwarzer was nothing short of a scandal. Just when an understanding is developing between keeper and centre halves Pearson screws it up again. If he was trying to contain then he failed totally as he left his best defensive midfielders on the bench. If he was trying to score goals then he failed on that count as well, as his central midfield had neither the strength or determination to win the ball and feed the strikers. And we don't need to go through it again about putting on your best crosser of a ball (Albrighton) and at the same time taking off your striker who thrives on crosses.

This isn't the first time Pearson has hamstrung the team and it won't be the last. The team he selected yesterday could have been on the end of a right hammering if United had gone for it in the second half. With goal difference likely to play a big part in deciding who get's relegated, we were lucky to get away with only -2. If we escape the drop this season it will be in spite of Pearson rather than because of him. I'm afraid he's out of his depth and we will need someone else to take us to the next level. It's too late to change this season but, survive or get relegated, he needs to go as soon as the season is over.
 
I know exactly what you mean Bucks, but for me it is because i feel he runs the club so well. He has developed an excellent squad ethos of togetherness without any egos and gets in good young developing players who always seem to thrive. His team are so good in the scouting market and the club is going in the right direction. He just needs to get the players on the pitch right because, when we do, we play well. Though now is the time when he does have to have a proper look at himself. Yes, we were always going to lose, but its when you know that before you play because you look at the line up when its a problem. Hamer has to start in goal as we is simply better, it really was a ridiculous decision that one and Vardy is not a winger - plain and simple. If he goes with albrighton you have to have ulloa on the pitch (or kramaric - hows he looked in the air so far?) otherwise he is wasted.

never said anything anti Pearson before but some of his tactics and selections have been bizare. Yesterdays line up was simply wrong and then to take off our biggest forward and then put on a proper winger was stupid. Maybe with the pressure this year its getting to him? If we can survive I think he will be fine next year!

I agree with your points about how well the club is being run and have said as much on a previous post. But I think a lot of the improvements behind the scenes have been financed by us being in The Prem. I fear that if we drop out of this league things could change very dramatically and very quickly. Would the owners decide to pull their money out? We don't know. The one thing we do know is that they are businessmen. We could certainly lose our better players - Schmeichel (maybe not such a great loss now), Mahrez, Kramaric, Ulloa, Cambiasso, Schlupp. Then we are starting to look a lot less certain to bounce straight back up. We know what a lottery The Championship can be and could head the same way as Wigan or Fulham.

Some of the things that have driven the club forward, such as the improved training facilities and the introduction of top class nutrition and player care experts, are to be applauded but the fact is that it counts for nothing when your team is bottom of the table and aren't winning. And I'm afraid that the people hoping that Pearson will suddenly have some kind of footballing epiphany are going to be disappointed. He is what he is. He's not some wet behind the ears manager new to the game; he's been doing this job for a good number of years and it speaks volumes that he hasn't progressed beyond where he is now. Maybe he would be more suited to something like a director of football role where he can look after the infrastructure of the club but not be involved in signings or team tactics or selection.

If we harbour ambitions of staying in The Prem and moving forward instead of scrapping around the bottom then, I'm afraid, Pearson's record shows he is not the man for the job.
 
Commentators echoed the view that Hamers done nothing wrong, they went with the fact Schwarzer was there for experience.
If that was the case, where was Cambiasso!

If Albrighton and Ulloa don't share pitch time soon, i'll riot!

If experience was important then I'd still have gone for Hamer. He has far more experience of playing with that back four in front of him than Schwarzer. If Hamer isn't back for the next match I would be a) disappointed and b) not surprised!
