I read that CFC directors are to make conciliatory gestures towards Mark Clattenberg that will enable him to take charge of future Chelsea fixtures. Wouldn't it be nice to be a fly on the wall when that meeting takes place?
It's a shame the racism stuff has over shadowed the absolutely dismal performance he gave that day. Clearly bought and paid for.
True.
However it is of more concern that we are letting one bad day effect weeks and weeks thereafter; much like QPR last season.
If I were Clattenberg, the first thing I'd be asking at that meeting is an unreserved apology from everyone at the club, from Mad Dog, right down to the boot-boys. Let them all savour of the shame, and let them all apologise for their part in it.
The second thing I would do is ask to see the colour of the money before I agreed to ref another match at SB. £50,000 ought to be fair compensation; no need to be greedy.
If CFC/Mad Dog did that, then (if I were Clattenberg) I'd graciously agree to ref the match.
Why would we apologize for following the FA rules then?
Hm. Let me see...
How about the fact that it was CFC who told the outrageous lies in the first place?

Got to wonder why we'd ever pay a ref to officiate one of our games given how badly him and his assistants did the last time.
