I read that CFC directors are to make conciliatory gestures towards Mark Clattenberg that will enable him to take charge of future Chelsea fixtures. Wouldn't it be nice to be a fly on the wall when that meeting takes place?

It's a shame the racism stuff has over shadowed the absolutely dismal performance he gave that day. Clearly bought and paid for.

We all need to move on really so it seems like a sensible idea. If the fa and Clattenberg can accept the complaint was made in good faith and CFC accept he had no case to answer upon review; then no reason why he can not ref us again. His career shouldn't be hampered if he is not guitly.

    True.

However it is of more concern that we are letting one bad day effect weeks and weeks thereafter; much like QPR last season.

I'd be surprised if this had anything to do with Robbie going! My guess is that after the demo on Saturday and the bad press that is mounting against us, RA has ordered the board to put credibility back into the name of Chelsea Football Club!

  7. If I were Clattenberg, the first thing I'd be asking at that meeting is an unreserved apology from everyone at the club, from Mad Dog, right down to the boot-boys. Let them all savour of the shame, and let them all apologise for their part in it.

The second thing I would do is ask to see the colour of the money before I agreed to ref another match at SB. £50,000 ought to be fair compensation; no need to be greedy.

If CFC/Mad Dog did that, then (if I were Clattenberg) I'd graciously agree to ref the match.

Why would we apologize for following the FA rules then?

You're happy enough to accept the FA's verdict but not happy enough to accept the FA saying we acted 100% correctly. I wonder why?

  9. Hm. Let me see...

How about the fact that it was CFC who told the outrageous lies in the first place?

Not according to the FA. According to them we acted 100% correctly.
So explain why you believe only half the FA's report on the case.

Got to wonder why we'd ever pay a ref to officiate one of our games given how badly him and his assistants did the last time.

Exactly! His handling of the Utd game was farcical! I think holding out an olive branch after costing us 3 pts against a key rival does us proud! As I've said the top man wants this rubbish to be put behind us and move on!

What a load of crap, I'd go round with a collection box to pay him for never refing another match for us ever again.

In all this rigmarole the key issue has never been brought to the forefront! That is to say Mr Clattenberg's performance as the ref in the PL fixture against Man Utd was quite the worst I can remember in many years of watching football. If he had performed, as they say a good ref should i.e. blend into the background and not be noticed, we all know that did not happen --and as a result he presided over a defeat against our key rivals ,where any non- MU/CFC fan would have said he was a failure!
