catts and altidore was the right decision , but wasting a sub on marvias was shocking.

Like for ****ing like OK! but not a ****ing downgrad. Jack was stuggling as it was

Jack is not a left back and our multi-million £ scouting network managed to bring in a crock

A change at the top ( Short has not got a clue) and a new manager I think by Monday morning or after Peterborough beat us, O Neil's run was not as bad .This has been a disaster after disaster, now Fletcher is out injured again what will go wrong next?, it should have been a simple task of getting quality players in after 6 seasons in the premier league but what the hell has happened ?, and Sess scores to compound things. I said about 2 and a half years ago we should have got Mancini, now we need a Ancellotti, or Wenger to sort this mess out. Who next as manager ?.

I think your living in cloud cuckoo land if your expecting a night in shining armour to take over from Short...Roberto Di Matteo?

I think the consensus about Di Canio was that it would be a success,or a complete failure. I know it's early days but I'm leaning towards the latter and his reign, 2 games last season apart, is looking like an unmitigated disaster.

I'm sorry but it just isn't a case of the team needing to gel. Paolo looks like he hasn't got a clue. He's constantly changed the side for each game and is throwing on substitutes left, right and centre. It's total confusion - the players just don't know where they're at.

Looking at the league table our goal difference is already -8. We shipped 3 goals against Palace & West Brom. Sure signs of a relegation team.

In a previous post, around deadline day, I mentioned that I thought the cheap & cheerful route would not work. Sadly, I'm being proved right. the players we have bought are clearly not good enough.

I really hope I'm wrong but I can't see us turning this around

Sunderland manager Paolo di Canio: "As a strong man as I am I am not worried, my head is always up, maybe if we win against Peterborough in the next round maybe that can give us an extra lift.

"We need to take the best, which is very little, from today's game, and go again. We need to be quick because we are not a team that have been together two or three years, but I really believe that if we can get a result together we can come together.

"The players have to help themselves and myself. We are down very deep but we have to make sure that we get a lift.

"The fans boo and insult and it is a part of the game. If I was in their position I would be furious. If we would have won it would have been a different reaction. But we have to accept it."

A bit more level headed than I was expecting.........

Good stuff

Di Canio is still the right man, despite what we'll be hearing in this coming week

You can't lose 1-3 to to Palace and 0-3 to WBa. You just can't. The fixtures have completely done PDC, I just can't see any manager being given long enough as to when we have a reasonalbe string of fixtures. Too much pressure etc will have built up before the team will click into place and something will have to give. It does't good at the moment for PDC.
