Sites like this (any forum) live on post counts. As long as a poster isn't abusive beyond the norms then a bit of humour/banter is needed to keep the site alive.
Once moderators start banning people for laughs or simply because they don't like them the forum will decline and advertising revenue will fall.
Simple economics really.
