Going on what i've been told by my sister who went to last night's game, there was a 'southern premier league' scout who we think was watching McShane.

This is backed up by the way he left on his mobile saying 'absolutely no way . . . he is not a premier league player . . . he has done this wrong and that wrong . . . no chance'

She has also been to training and asked him if he will leave, and he gave a definate yes to improve his chances of playing at Euro 2012, but we knew Barmby had already mentioned this.

As it seems he has blown a great chance of playing in the premier league by not playing well last night, who do you think will take him?

She said he would probably drop to league 1 for first team football to which I said but he probably wouldn't get picked for Ireland. What do you think?

I was at the game last night and saw Bradford Citys manager Phil Parkinson there as well as a few bodies(scouts) with note pads. I doubt any PL club will take McShane but maybe someone like Huddersfield Town or one of the Sheffield clubs. I think that McShane will go with Eire to the euros as long as he plays first team football. Maybe Doncaster MAY take a chance on him. Whatever happens to McShane we wont have long tio wait now.

Tell your sister it was a good spot. Was it the chap sat behind Phil Buckingham by chance ? lol.
 
I think that McShambles should thank god every day that he's somehow managed to end up as a professional footballer on £20K+ a week, quite how he's managed that I'll never know.

As for pushing things a bit further and wanting to take part in a major international competition, that really is taking things a bit too far.

Obviously Trappatoni doesn't know what the phuck he's talking about when it comes to football. Look what a mess he's made of the Republic's Euro Qualification campaign!!!

Thought McShane's weaknesses were exposed last night by the big lad Tounkara. To suggest he's got no ability is just wrong though. Foremostly, he's as brave as ****. He's a decent ball player, he's a good leader, he's fit and he works hard. Lack of pace kills him.

answer is simple. the desperation of Paul Duffen and Phil Brown after the cheap sale of Michael Turner and also made worse when Macca had agreed to go to a championship club for £5k a week. Then again they had history after what they paid Peter Halmosi from what he was earning @ Plymouth Argle. <doh><doh>
 
I was at the game and i doubt i saw a single scout......

On Macca yep his weakness was shown last night but i agree with Theo he does have some ability to be back up.
 
He's a wholehearted guy but his technique and composure at times lets him down, he's just a target for other teams to exploit a lot of the time, saying that not everybody can be that clued up if Premiership teams are looking at him, maybe the fact he skippered Eire v Italy recently has put him in the spotlight

Think you`ll find this is the way scouts earn their bread and butter by going to a lot of reserve and youth games. we are no exception. No doubt someone will have watched McFail, but his ability to throw in errors from absolutely nowhere will always hold him back. I would hazard a guess at the fact that if Premier scouts were there, they would have been looking more to the likes of Brady and Oli, very much doubt any of the top echelon would even think about McFail.
 
McShane is a reasonable player but like so many defenders we've had recently he just lacks composure. I remember in the Ferriby friendly last summer he played alongside Hobbs. Ferriby were absolutely twatting balls skyward all the time and every time it was on Hobbs' side he got underneath it and headed it away, when it was on McShane's side he ran around for about 20 minuts trying to find where it would land and fell over at the end of it most times. He, like Zayatte and Gardner in the past, seems to be sprinting around the area after people too much whereas the likes of Chester and Hobbs are so assured, well-positioned and composed they hardly ever have to run.
