Presumably he's the steady captain figure to stick in the middle of all our Man United kids, not the most exciting signing in the world, but we are lacking a bit of experience in the middle(and any signing that has a chance of keeping JH out the first XI has to be a good thing).

Now let's be fair OLM, I for one wouldn't welcome anyone like Simon Walton back to the club, I think this would have me screaming for JH back in the squad if it did happen, so be careful what you wish for ;)

is no one else a little bit disappointed at this signing ? we were in for the likes of Danns, Greening, Johnson etc.. and now we've had to settle for this guy. that is what has happened here eh, we couldnt get who we wanted, so we've had to 'settle' for our 6th choice.. a 33 year old.

it just pisses me off that we always seem to fail landing our main targets, and for once they are reasonable targets, not the 'blow your socks off' crap brown used to talk about. yet still we cant get a player to sign.

I agree, it pisses me off as well that they never want to come. However I reckon he'll be good for us, no reason to think so, I just trust NP with most signings.

I'd rather have him than not. Wage demands won't be high, and we're in serious need of some steel in midfield. Just because we get him doesn't mean he'll be first choice and play every game, but if we don't get a better man in at least he's an option. Experienced and has leadership qualities too.

Yes, I trust NP with the signings, and AP keeping tabs on the budget. We may not get all the players we want (as fans) and be a tad disappointed...
But at least the club won't end up broke. [And you can't say that about all the other clubs].
Better a frugal sense than a lack of sense. Eh - Brown? eh - Duffen? eh - Bartlett? EH - PERKY???

He is an ok player, he looks like the kind of player we needed last season after Ashbee left. With him bringing in the experience, I don't think Adebola will come in now, otherwise the age balance will tip the other way and we will be full of old timers again. Still think we should be in for Treacy, other clubs around us are in for him, why shouldn't we?

Who posted this one on footy rumours then?

"Hull City to sign Rushden & Diamonds exciting & powerful central midfielder Alan Power, believed to be for a fee in the region of 50k plus clauses. Deal believed to go through by the end of the week."

Even if it wasn't us, 50k plus clauses for a player at a non league club that's been relegated at least 2 divisions seems excessive. Their financial problems in the next year are probably going to be worse than ours were, relative to income.

Well i think many of us at times last year where crying out for someone who could do exactly this type of role, the leader on the pitch the lad who does the hard yards and makes the hard tackles but yet has at least some sort of control on the ball. Will be a good signing i feel, and i highly doubt he will be breaking our wage structure.

Exactly what we need, an Ashbee sort of player on less money. Just two keepers, two centre halfs, a creative midfielder, a winger and a forward needed.

i agree with our wants except only one centre half required but we need at least one utility defender to cover full backs
