Still wrong, you need to have a good deep read about the history and make up of the middle east, the present dilemna involves a whole multitude of nationalities from that general area, reaching into north Africa and that includes EGYPT. isis is a cult which has risen from opportunists who saw an opening in the mayhem of the modern day middle east. you only have to look at the history of those in charge / pulling the strings, criminals and druggies.
what you seem to get confused with is "autonomy" the Scots do! Czech's did, Slovenia did, so did a dozen Russian states prior to the break up of the USSR.. OK there have been a couple of glitch's in the Balkans but only because there was a dictatorship and the dictator didn't want to lose out but that was all "in house" so to speak....

I'm rather embarrassed to say that I was the opposite - probably because of the influence of my dad and his experiences with the militant shop stewards in Rolls Royce - I used to have some VERY right wing views - but all non-violent I must add. I used to get really wound up and annoyed by some of the trendy lefties bleating on about rubbish that they knew very little about.

My dad changed jobs in the 1980s to become a teacher - and then his political views changed completely - its funny how some people change politics when their personal circumstances change isn't it?!!!

It seems that as we go through life and taste the bitter-sweet feast along the way, our opinions mature into what is more-or-less a 'middle-of-the-road' compromise. No political party in this country has all the answers - just the case of chosing one which is less unpalatable than the others.

The bankers you blame were the ones over inflating the economy by lending people money they couldn't afford to pay back.

Like creating jobs that aren't there just cause long term misery, there is a balance to what you say but socialists don't understand where that point is and never have!

You carry on and waste your vote on Corbyn. If he even makes it to an election. (people with more sense will get rid of him long before then)

With regards tax credits.. I don't agree with everything the Tories do! (theres lots I don't) I also don't agree with giving things to people to who CAN afford NOT to have them.

Come back when you've had some life lessons and not basing all your politics on pipe dreams.
 
There is no society which suits everyone. Some people want to work and accumulate wealth so as to provide for their families. Others think they are mugs and are quite happy to live on benefits (some by choice others by circumstances). The trick is to get a balance. Sadly that is unachievable so we look after ourselves first.
 
You can never waste a vote, unless in fact you don't vote.

Voting against the Tories is never a wasted vote, in fact it is showing that you want change. A mass of people all voting can cause a big change.

I believe that people are worried by Corbyn and taking power away from those who have inherited riches and helping those in need and thus there is a smear campaign against him.

Voting against the Tories is never a wasted vote, its not if the reasons behind doing so are sound, however the number of new voters for say Labour were lost by the old ones that jumped ship it just meant on the face of it "fewer" or less voted for them.
Last part is universally sound a "mass of people voting can make a change big or small /win or lose" turn out is and always will be key
 
Out last election was a vote for change, the majority of people in Scotland booted Labour out of Scotland, the majority of people of the UK booted the Liberal Democrats out of power and Labour became rejected a 2nd time by majority will on the trot.

9 million people plus voted for Labour MP's and only 500k voted the conning little shister in as leader of a small opposition party, so his MP's hold a lot more influence with people than he does, he makes promises he can't keep, insults our security forces by saying they can't be trusted to defend us, backed down over our national anthem and bowing to the queen, ****s on and betrays his fellow shadow cabinet members, incapable about making decisions, he is a total fraud and the biggest two faced untrustworthy idiot going, this nation will never succumb to such a complete, irrelevant clown.

I'll admit that Corbyn has his flaws but in general from my point of view, labour are still better than the Tories. I Can't see myself voting Tory or UKIP etc in the future but haven't ruled out lib dems or similar in more local elections.

MTG - I am not going to judge you or throw insults, but I fear you are being sold a pipe dream like a dodgy salesman pushes.
You are correct when you say that many young people like Corbyn, but stand back for a minute - do you seriously trust the fickle opinions of the young over the measured opinions from experience? (Not intended as a dig or put-down)

I cringe - and thank God I didn't have serious power when I was in my late teens to mid 20s. I wasn't ready. I was young and knew everything. It's only now I realise that I didn't.

It will be interesting to see what Corbyn supporters now think in 10 years time - whether or not he remains in charge of Labour.

Don't think from this that I am s Tory - far from it - but I voted Tory in the election because I felt that Cameron - moron that he is - was infinitely better than Ed Milliband.

I am sure I will upset some on here, but the only time I voted and was happy with my vote was when I voted for Tony Blairs Labour Party - I really thought his policies were a breath of fresh air.

.... Then he took us into Iraq.......

There is one message I'm picking up from mtg and that is he loves the Labour party and not necessarily the individuals that run it, I understand that and we are all driven by our own instincts and experience, I respect his points of view and hope he continues to develop them well into maturity.

There is not one face or individual that is worth a whistle in this new Corbynite bunch, they are twisted, hypocritical, treacherous and they lie to suit the headlines, I dislike them intensely, I never rated Milliband or Ed Balls but they and their band of angels were head and shoulders above the current labour gathering of low life..

One thing that does confuse me MTG is your hatred towards the rich people but yet you support Lansdown when he went to Guernsey to avoid tax. And want him to chuck money into the club to pay for better players.

If you want to get all these great things for education, cheap afforable housing the elderly the asylum seekers and refugees then something has to change.
So giving you a blank bit of paper please explain where is the money going to come from? If you want to charge more tax to the better paid workers what is the threshold going to be before they get the higher tax bracket

I'm all for equal opportunities but giving corybn the chance to run the country will be a liability for our security our economy and our employment. Naively I believed going to Iraq was a good idea at the time but I learnt from my mistakes unlike the labour party who have gone back to the past
 
I don't hate the rich, just those who abuse their power and money.

Financially wise it's a difficult one to balance but I do think it could at least be better distributed among people in terms of cuts.

In 10 years time I may change politically but I'll guess I'll see where the future takes me.

I don't blame him and trust me when you get a letter from the taxman saying you owe more than what you've been paying so far this year, we are going to take more to make up for it. You won't be sat there saying, that's ok it's going to sort out those less fortunet than me.

Trust me when you start earning money and seeing how much goes out of your wages you will change your mind.

His classic comment at the time was 'I expect between 3,000 and 13,000 people to come here'.
Net immigration since has been 300,000 every year (that's a city the size of Hull) - Blair has changed this country forever.
Mtg - if you find it tough to afford somewhere to live remember who caused the problem.

Voting against Labour isn't a wasted vote either and they will be playing 2nd fiddle for many years to come.
 
The last election results showed how flawed our entire system is. I'm absolutely not a UKIP supporter, but the number of seats they got in proportion to the percentage of vote they got was disgusting. How is that democracy really?
