Josh Kerr being bigged up by the BBC tonight and his interviews show a man full of either aggressive confidence or arrogant bullshit depending on your perspective. I am beginning to hope that anyone but him or the Norwegian win, the lack of respect being shown to other competitors, including Neil Gourlay from the U.K., is sad.

Yep, great race and shows the foolishness of ignoring most of the competitors. To be fair to Kerr he has taken it well and did a PB and national record.
BBC is having a mare of a Games though. They have dumbed down to a cretinous level. The chance to entertain and educate by showing two field event finals, some actual live sport, men’s long jump and women’s hammer - totally ignored to do the build up to the 1500m in the studio by asking a heptathlete, a 200/400 metre runner and a marathon runner their opinions of two of the field of ten. When they have a former world record holder at the distance and Olympic silver medalist on the commentary team. It was only when they handed over to Cram that I learned other runners had a chance. The relentless focus on British athletes is understandable to a point but they have taken it way too far, possibly as a result of only having restricted coverage of the full range of the competition.

Well, the boxing commentary has a hint of redemption for the Beeb, very clear and specific about what the fighters need to do and how well they are doing. I’m learning stuff. Of course we haven’t seen much boxing because GB hasn’t done very well, and I think the Irish haven’t been great either. If Richardson loses this bout I wonder if they will show any of the finals.

Agree, and loved the way they all seemed to be mates and having a laugh as well. The number of much older male ‘coaches’ was a bit creepy though.
