Religion is the best and worst thing to happen to civilisation.
Almost, just one word to many.
Religion is the best and worst thing to happen to civilisation.
Do keep up! ISIS initially were part of the rebel groups in Syria....Al-Nusra are part of ISIS who we fund as well and various other rebel groups.

There's ****loads mateYes, the group split and ISIS went off on their own agenda. Nobody's denying that. At this time, they are two separate groups, hence the dispute between Russia and the U.S. over the targets of Russian bombing.

Thank you for this.
And for the part about the Quran being written in a language that is open to interpretation (a bit like the parables in the Bible ...)
To me it seems that anybody with a dogmatic agenda will cherry pick, twist and warp a Holy text to suit their own ends. Europeans were doing it throughout the world during their colonisations of Africa and the Americas and fighting amongst themselves in their homelands, whilst sending crusades to the middle east.
To me, killing somebody because they don't believe in the same spiritual leader as your own is a complete contradiction to the core message of any religion.
[/QUOTE]When did I ever give my definition?
Wrong. Most religions preach they are superior.
People are aware the world was a brutal place in Muhammeds time, Jesus time etc. People rarely had rights, the very poorest and worst off people were the easiest to recruit with promises of a better life. This better life often involved the forceful conversion of others, regardless of the religion.
Created as a means of control, spread through violence, defended to the hilt.
Religion. Pure Evil.
Cant do that because then who will be the big bad wolf! We need someone to churn out the war propaganda and arms sales all over the world.
Did try and understand that in context and the messages before that? or is there going to be too many skeletons coming out of the cupboard if we bring them alive and bring them to justice!

Stop looking at then as moral compasses and see then for what they are. Political parties. Each has its own agenda and while thousands of years on, those original agendas have been forgotten about by most, it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Possibly a little harsh. But yes, religion promised people that if they did what they were told they would go to heaven. It was the way to control them, and get the money to support and grow the religion.
Plus, of course, nobody was going to come back and complain that they'd been conned.
At least they not banging on about proving your Britishness now...looks like the issues have evolved![]()
Look, the way I see its Spurlock, Jonny and Highal are people. However they choose to be labeled as Muslims (if that's the case for Highal). I don't give two ****s about their religion, its nothing more that a personal choice they have made. If it wasn't a choice, well, that's a whole different debate entirely.
If religion makes the man, then I don't want to know that man.
it's a shame you had to publish a biography and a microscopic view of your daily life and thoughts for some of these people to realise that Muslims are normal people @ johnnykopblaws.
When did anyone but Page mention your Britishness?
Were talking about your faith. You can choose one, the other not so much.
A Muslim scholar gives his view of the Paris attacks
You must log in or register to see media

Something makes us all....you need to accept that..it's obvious you have an underlying hatred for religion....maybe you was in the choir as a kid...I'm beyond rationale with you.
I've followed some of the argument on here and wanted to add my thoughts.
The Paris attacks have caused a lot of media attention and people have taken to the usual social media to vent and to show support, it's sad that the same attention was not given to the people who were killed in Turkey and it's sad that the usual idiots turned it into an anti Islam campaign one person stood out to me as he posted a comment condeming Islamic leaders for not coming out speaking against IS, they certainly did come out and condemn the attacks but one idiot not bothering to actually check this caused a huge amount on anti Islam comments. People are too quick to wade in without knowing the facts.
Some have then highlighted the attacks on Syria and Yemen and highlighting the suffering of those people and the wrongs inflicted upon the region by the Western world, this has to stop, intelligence has to improve. Legitimate targets have to be identified correctly and the attack has to be accurate, in any war there are casualties (not that I accept this) but imo not enough is done to keep them to a minimum.
My main point is that regardless of what is happening in Yemen and Syria, the slaughter of innocent people in the name of IS is an outrage that cannot be left unanswered, the intelligence services need to up their game and halt this organisation, they wont stop them I don't think you ever can but at this point they need curbing as they are finding it too easy to carry out their operations.
I ended up in a Turkish Restaurant on Saturday night quite late and it was really quiet in there the owners brought up the attacks and were at the point of deperately trying to distance themselves from any kind of hatred or and dislike for the country they now lived in, I found it really sad. They are nice people who bring a lot to our community and are more welcome than the bigoted idiots I occasionally endure on moronic websites like Facebook.
