Alan Pardew blames TV presenter Ray Stubbs for FA's decision to take action against Yohan Cabaye
Alan Pardew has blamed ESPN presenter Ray Stubbs for the Football Association’s decision to charge Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye with violent conduct.

Cabaye has been charged retrospectively by the FA for appearing to kick Brighton defender Adam El-Abd during Newcastle’s 1-0 FA Cup defeat last weekend as referee Lee Probert missed the incident.
Pardew is furious and Newcastle will have their appeal heard on Wednesday morning, but he revealed he had rung Stubbs to accuse him of overhyping the clash during ESPN’s live coverage of the tie.
“I am absolutely livid about it because firstly, when the incident happened, I didn’t see anything wrong with it,” he said.
“After the game, someone said to me the TV coverage, especially the presenter, Ray Stubbs, was so ferocious about it, and I couldn’t understand that.
“What the slow motion pictures highlight is absolutely not a fair reflection. I said this to Ray Stubbs last night – here I am as a football manager, your job is as a presenter. You present and ask questions.

I blame Mike Riley (**** referee anyway) head of the PGMOL

there seems to be no consistancy in the decisions,
yet the laws in the FA guidelines remain the same for everyone
there seems to be NO guidance coming down to the Referee's at the sharp end

if we are going to let TV influence the game, then it should be applied right across the board
where all the decisions missed or incorrectley applied should be reviewed and where necassary the correct outcome prevails

not this 'well the ref had seen it but it was ok' because this only depends on who the ref is
as I said the the laws of the game are for everyone and shouldn't be twisted to suit individual players or teams

The Vincent Kompany incident could of been the starting point
the ref sent him off as he understands in the guidlines of 'The Laws of Association Football'

Kompany appeals the decsion as everyone see that he wins the ball and the decision seems a bit harsh
the FA reject that appeal as they see fit

less than 24 hours later Johnson of Liverpool makes a worse lunge at a player, yet the decision is different no foul - How is that?
since then there has been numerous over the top tackles committed from a variety of players
and it looks like the FA only look at these when they have been inflenced by the media
which makes it very confusing for the Managers, Players, Fans and even the humble referee who does his best

Can,t blame the ref for missing this incident. He was only 5 yards away from the most blatant handball and didn,t see that. Because Cabaye is not a "headline" player Rooney, Gerard who elbow punch players he WILL get banned.

Rooney was banned for swearing down a camera. They could've just fined him if they didn't want to ban him.

YCabayeofficiel yohan cabaye
3 matchs ban it's a real injustice but life goes on !!! In my teammates i trust ...

Predictable and stupid. <grr> ****ing FA.

Totally agree with Pards on this one, I knew when watching/listening to that ****er that it would rile up the press/FA, he couldn't let it lie could he! Kept on at it, even showing replays way after the incident. British football has gone tackle crazy over the past month!

Got away with that elbow, much like RVP did against Villa. The FA are corrupt.
