It's pitiful isn't it.

This is totally inept and is denigrating the competition, as if it needed it.

If I was the chief of the sponsors I'd be absolutely furious.

Even if the dates can't be set without consulting the clubs, there's no reason why the draw can't be made.

And they'll tell us the draw at 3pm on the day of the game and ensure we're away from home to the longest journey!

:emoticon-0102-bigsm It'll be the first match fans are allowed back in,away to the longest journey and kicking off at 8pm on a Monday night! :emoticon-0105-wink:

I've just been reading up on this, apparently last years final was supposed to be Pompey v Salford, according to the EFL it's still scheduled to be played, fcuk knows how that's going to work.
It’s a different sponsor for that one too, was suggested yesterday both finals on the same day but that wouldn’t work due to advertising.

Another interesting question - which Portsmouth and Salford players will be allowed to play? Would it be fair to allow new signings to play even if they hadn’t played in last seasons competition?

Aye it's a bit of a mess, six months each for the trophy holders ?

Make it possible for both clubs to choose from the players available who were contracted this season and/or last season) and play it at the end of this season - play off's permitting!

I reckon they might commission a replica trophy (there might even already be one), and the winners from last year get that, and we get the genuine one
Both winners then get to keep them until 2022.

Hypothetical I know, but imagine if last years two finalists were x1 from league 1 (who then got promoted) and x1 from league 2 ( who were then relegated)
Could have a Chapionship vs Conference final.

Nah, let last year's have the trophy and for this year Papa John's bake a pizza the size of the centre circle and the winners and their fans get to eat it, of course it would be along with free drinks, in a gigantic end of season finale!
