Had a feeling we'd struggle when i knew Eto'o wasn't fit. I know he's not a world beater anymore but he's a million miles better than Torres and Ba. They looked like the team challenging for the title, so much better than us. We'll get humiliated if we play like that against PSG. Shocking performance.
 
Ho hum.....between the mickeys & City now -we've had too many stuff-ups against the bottom feeders and that's where championships are won and lost; I always thought the absence of a clinical finisher would come back to bite us big time and so it's proved......change of role for Torres next season: programme seller.
 
Dire.

The one thing Jose needs to find in the summer is a partner for Matic who is Captain material and can push us through these games. We don't have anyone of that calibre right now and it shows in these type of games.
 
You had to laugh at that mis placed pass by Palace at the end, if only it had fallen to anyone other than Torres. It just goes to show how desperate Chelsea are for a quality striker. I think you'll have to wait til next season now to win it. If you get Diego Costa, then you'll be hard to stop :biggrin:
 
That was absolutely awful. Our passing was off, our shooting was horrendous and there was no drive in the team. The players just do not seem motivated as much as they do against the big teams. When Hazard isn't on his game and the opposition is playing like a proper football team, you cannot tell where a goal is going to come from. We didn't sign a striker in either of the last two transfer windows, when it was clear that we needed one, and are now paying for it. Changes are needed in the summer. Torres has to be the first out of the door, followed by Ba.

For me, this appears like the day we lost the title. I began the week with confidence thinking that we were going to win it, believing that we would win this match and that Manchester City would drop at least three points. Instead we dropped three and they gained four. It's not over yet, but it seems like it's too big an ask to win all of our remaining games and expect our rivals to drop enough in what's left of the season. With us still in the Champions League that is bound to take it's toll on us as well. If we cannot win the league then I hope Man City do.
 
Didn't think I could see a worse performance than the Villa one, did yesterday though. Why do we continue to play that ****ing blonde lump up top too?
 
Yesterday was the last straw for me and Torres. Defended him up till then but as usual his anonymous when needed most. That said, it wasn't his fault we lost yesterday. Awful tactics and players were poor.
 
Has Jose's shot himself in the foot by continually playing down your chances?


Its different for us as we arent expected to win it

We would have had the league in the bag - had he signed ANY striker. He opted to go without a striker, perhaps to make things interesting for neutrals and opposition. Or to prove his ingenuity.

Jose doesn't have anyone but himself to blame for this situation.

And we don't have anyone but him to thank for our position at the moment.
 
Also, if Eto'o is inured/unfit i think it's time to start Schurrle down the middle. Torres is as bad now as he's ever been with us and Jose doesn't fancy Ba at all.

But you opt to buy the ready made player and this is what happens, live by the sword, die by the sword etc
 
Do you lot think you're out of it then? All it would take is for us to beat City and you then to beat us (LFC), and you're straight back in it.

If you beat City, I see no reason why you won't beat us, based on current home form. However, we do tend to play better against our title aspiring rivals. It just bothers me that we cannot seem to do the business against teams that we are supposedly superior to. Best scenario now is 3rd, and secure CL for next season, My real worry is if L'Arse and Spud's had have been any where near their potential, we would have been down with Moyes and his circus.
