... in their own words from around 606.

Charlton: "That first half was as bad as anything I've ever seen from Charlton."

Ipswich: "One of the worse things is we still haven't played the better teams in this division yet."

Portsmouth: "Well the wheels have fallen off the promotion bus."

Just made me laugh, yeah I know it's daft at this stage ...

... feel free to add your own.

Some strange results yesterday Smug which just made out three points even more important.
Bolton could be dark horses but as you say its still early days.

IIRC, apart from Wigan, the next six or seven teams have played a game more ...

... they're in a 'playing catch up' situation we've had for the last few seasons.

Being top in September doesn't win you anything but it's the best place to be.

Damn that Burton result.

We’ve been like that last 3 seasons. Nowt against them but I’m ower the moon. :emoticon-0100-smile

Love our league position atm.... especially as I dread the play-offs we need automatic promotion.

There are 46 games..(right) long way to go and we are bound to have a dip in form at some point (injuries to key players, losing a couple of tight games, red cards etc).

So yes a brilliant start but the Fat Lady is just having her breakfast...she is not going to be on stage for a long time yet.

I've noticed there's a few injuries happening to our rivals and the cloggers, like Wycombe, will have regular suspensions. The Oxford v Wycombe game was a kicking match yesterday ....

.... we must have the best squad in the league, in terms of depth and versatility, so I've officially abandoned all caution and expect us to finish top.

I don't believe in jinxes and can't see anyone better than us.

I honestly cannot see it. The odd loss, the odd draw here and there but mainly wins. I think we will get promotion quite comfortably with a few games to go.

I believe our bench would finish 2nd behind us.

I was there that night and the way we played makes it more irksome

I don't think we'll rue that Burton result come the end of the season mate ;)

Hull and Peterborough lost 11 games each last season.
Draws have been our downfall for the last 3 seasons
I can standing winning 5 and losing 1 out of 6.
Keep that up and we get the **** out of this horrendous league

I had a look at the Ipswich forum the other day and there were already a few posts saying give Cook until the end of September and if things don't improve get rid.
Charlton seem to have weakened from last year, but a lot of their fans aren't happy with their new owner for promising to "blow the league away" and coming out with stuff he hadn't been able to back up (sounds familiar) so there's quite a bit of a squabble going on with them.
It's nice to be in our shoes for once!

Never understood why owners, managers or players make stupid promises…they literally always backfire. Nice to have some realistic people at our club for a change.

Agreed, mate. Reading the Charlton fans comments just made me think of Donald's boast about having a budget championship clubs would be envious of and Meth-head's "100 points" comment. All it does is raise expectations and if you can't deliver supporters will turn on your because they feel let down.
