I think returning to something you once had is often not as good as you remembered it to be.
It's better to move on.
So, no to Phil Brown.
And by the same logic, I think NP's wrong to head back to Leicester, but we may never know his real reasons.
I'm sure whoever we get next will divide opinion.
Let's just hope we can keep some unity in the squad.

I think we can discount Billie Davies after the way he left Derby when AP was in charge.

Without question IMO it has to be WARREN JOYCE with Nick Barmby as his No.2 both already City legends. By having Warren that will ensure that the ex.Man Utd kids stay happy. Afterall it was Warren who got them here in the first place.

I don't know whether this idea of a young up and coming manager is the right ploy at this time, remember Parkinson. With a young team they need some experienced manager to guide them in the right way. I would go for McClaren with Nick Barmby as his number 2.

There is no chance we can get Curbishley but i would love him, Karl Robinson would be a good one. Eddie Howe has done brilliant in League One even if he is faltering at this level he still has talent. Greg Abbot as links and is doing well at Carlisle. Gary Brabin as a long shot.
Yes it would mate. Forget Curbishley as he gets a nose bleed north of watford gap. Its time for a manager who has Hull City at heart. Knows the players already here and can improve what NP has already done. NB knows NP methods and for sure Warren would be able to get more gems from Man Utd. For me its a no brainer. Fingers crossed the powers that be feel the same.
Maybe Adam P should ask the fans if they would be happy with the pair in charge ? I would be amazed if the vote was less than 90%. But for Warren Joyce we would not have a Hull City to debate over full stop. Both Joyce and Barmby are experienced in many ways and would have the entire squads respect from the off. I agree Karl Robinson is one for the future But is that now ?
I believe the problem with Parkinson was (as someone here has already posted) that we didn't get the management team (ie manager and assistant/coach). His club was too crafty for that and we hadn't researched enough to be "in the know". Remember Cloughie and his mate Peter Taylor, worked miracles together, not so good seperated for one of them.

Karl Robinson has a pretty decent win ratio - 48% from 75 games as manager.
Nigel Pearsons win ratio here is 36%
His ratio at Leicester was 51% (which I guess most of that was league one)
So his league one record is not much better than Robinsons at league one level.

He lost Baldock to the Hammers, not sure if he was there when Wilbraham left? But he's steering the ship through change quite nicely. He got them to the play off final last season and has been top 4 or 5 all season. I think on the face of it he looks a decent bet. He would match in terms of our squad hunger and desire to succeed. Plus he's attack minded, so with the defence sorted under Nigel (thanks Nige) and an attacking type coach in for 2/3rds of the season, I think we could just do ok!
He's untried at this level. Do you really want to go through another Phil Parkinson scenario?

Losing existing backroom staff (Shakes/Walsh etc) would be a big issue to overcome & I think given the right level of freedom at City McClaren will bring the right professional people in to move the Club forward.

I think we need a young and modern manager. Look at the football city have been playing recently, we want that to carry on right? We don't want an older experienced manager that is stuck in the 90's and wanting to play more direct football. I think the owners realise this.
I don't understand what relevance Phil Parkinson's failures have to do with the likelihood of someone like Robinson doing the same, for a start we sacked Parky after only a few months so who knows where we'd have got if we hadn't (for the record i think he'd have got us relegated).
