Laura, are you Artur? It seems you have a similar response to any form of challenge...

The linguistic equivalent of a star jump<laugh>

I do think Boruc should have travelled on Sunday, however I do understand his concern about being a back up player with an international spot at stake. Ron obviously doesn't want Artur as his number one keeper and the player is entitled to believe that he is too good to play second string at this stage of his career. Can he find a move at this stage of the window and will he be allowed to...Spider all over again.

It wouldn't have been either/or though Odd. An opportunity came about to sign England's number two goalkeeper, whilst our current keeper is 34 and only has a year left on his contract. We had the money - seems a sensible move. I certainly don't think it would have any impact at all on whether or not a defender or attacker is signed.

I know it was not an either or but we had enough players to replace without creating others! I guess what I was thinking was that when we were desperately trying to finalise deals before the start of the season Forster would not have been top of my list, however it may well have been simply the only transfer that was progressing.

I find it strange that we prioritised a goalkeeper when an upgrade in defence or attack would make a more significant difference. Yes, Forster may have potential but I would not say he is miles better than Boruc but a good defender could be a lot better than Yoshida for example.

Prioritising suggests that signing a keeper prevented us from signing an outfield player. Obviously not the case as we have money left and are looking to sign a couple of other players. Anyway I think another keeper was essential as was obvious last season.

Don't be ridiculous

Right, okay.

Let me try and help out here. Genuinely.

All I'm saying is that actually the majority of people have the same feeling about the Boruc/Forster debate. As do you actually. Understand why another keeper was bought/understand why Artur might feel a bit put out/disagree with his specific reaction in using social media to gripe.

However, varieties of this conversation below are getting rather frustrating and tedious.

Everyone - "This is my opinion on Artur, and how he should act moving forward"
Laura - "But you don't know the facts"
Everyone - "Okay, what is there in these facts that makes my opinion invalid"
Laura - "I'm not telling you"
Everyone - "Why not"
Laura - "I don't need to prove myself to anyone here"

Not really terribly helpful, and actually mildly annoying. That's why you have people biting, because you're really not providing much other than veiled hints which is a bit pointless. Then when people get frustrated you're accusing people of being mean to you. I'd suggest having a think about why you're getting people's backs up, and using the above as a form of reference.

It's a shame as when you initially started posting, it was really interesting. Remember I repped you back up to green because I personally enjoyed your contributions.

I think you will find a problem i have is fact i can say things numerous times and most of you either can not read simple english, do not read all posts, take what you wish out what is written or genuinely can not read between lines or do not want to read between them.

Ive basically been accused of betraying a trust for saying things. I was open about what info i know, how that info comes about. Have been pretty much since day one. Does not mean i am going to spell it out word for word for you all. And what im saying i can say in person to another person. It is not about looking big or good or flash on a forum.

At end of day i think club/management have treated boruc s**t. Treated being the main word in that sentence.

Do i blame club for wanting a new keeper? No

Do i think Forster is better than Boruc? Only time will really tell

Do i think it was Boruc's place to loose after how he has played last few seasons for club? Yes

Do i think if he messed up it was chance for Forster to make it his? Yes

Do i think venting on social media is way to go? No, but its sadly the day and age we life in

And lastly if koeman doesnt rate him beyond a number 2 and the guy wants to go and play football so he can play for his national team then let him go.

If i was in club shoes would i want him to leave? No cause the risk is 10 million later and keeper situation isn't one bit better

I think a lot of people agree with what you are saying, Laura. It is rough on Boruc and reasonable that he might seek a first team place elsewhere, but as you said we'd be right back where we started from apart from possibly having a better keeper. I believe we may have, but only time will tell. Sadly, all this is a keeper's lot in life.

We are all agreeing Fran, but I think she's determined to feel angry at us for some reason.

Fran i have no issue with

*sigh*......that's fine Laura. I've tried to explain to you politely how and why you might have been winding people up a bit. You've decided to ignore that and carry on regardless. That's entirely up to you. Best of luck with all that. I'm out of this for now.

Ye i can read. Clearly you can't read my reasons i have issues with few of you lot.

I even broke it down for you all my opinion on all matters to clear it up

Sometimes, just sometimes, we don't read posts as carefully as we might. I often make the mistake of writing rambling posts that make several points and then get picked up on some insignifcant facet of what I have written. laurab12 has had a little of that herself.

I'm not sure that we are ALL agreeing [I haven't read every single post], but significantly, many of us are, of Laurab12's main points.

I think we could cut Laurab12 some slack and not continue to question her motivations or knowledge. Her posts are her opinion and she's entitled to them. Providing she stays within the forum rules [I haven't seen any transgressions] then she is more than welcome to continue posting. Personally, I don't like to see posters having to defend and justify themselves all the time, and I'm sure all members would like the same.

I completely agree with you TSS. I've been trying to point out that we are all agreeing, just that it's quite frustrating when she leaves little hints then refuses to back anything up by elaborating at all. They're presented not as opinion but as privileged fact, but only as hints. It's a strange way of going about things and I'm just trying to help her see why other posters get frustrated by it.

There's certainly no suggestion on my part that she desist from posting, that would, to quote Laura, be 'ridiculous'.

I am sorry if the reading between the lines some of you can not do but i am not going to write word for word what the exact deal here is. If members choose to think i really do not know then that is each and everyones pesonal choice. I have never mislead any of you in last few years with anything i have put on here

Laura - the occasion I'm referring to is where you refused point blank whether to say Artur had an injury or not during the last game, but continued to make obscure hints. There was no reading between the lines to be had there at all - it just came across as a bit like someone who didn't know, but refused to say so and came across badly. Nobody is expecting you to relay conversations verbatim, but if you're going to come on here and give hints, they need a little more context really. If lines need reading between, why not just say it outright in the first place? What's the point in the games?

And you know why? 90% of you had already made up your mind why he was not in squad. It is there in the match day thread to read.

Southampton fc did not feel the need to clarify the situation so why should i? Everything i say you want me to justify and i just do not have too. You maybe do not like it but as TSS said above im fed up defending myself.

Again as i said above and you have blanked:
