Of course she is entitled to her view....it's her lack of any sensitivity towards the thousands of people who have been worried about their elderly relatives catching Covid-19....to come out with such a statement after getting the jab herself is beyond belief.....would she have got it so soon if it wasn't for her privileged position in society.

I know quite a few people in their eighties....including myself.....and none of them have been told yet when they're getting a jab.

Voting for Boris or Corbyn last year wasn't much of a choice....but I did what I thought was best....and I wish no ill on any Prime Minister at the moment regarding Covid-19 and trying to do the best thing..... when there are many out there taking no notice of the rules and scuppering every action to try and keep this country safe.

I doubt I could say anything without you on principle sensible saying the opposite.....so be it.

I just wish all on here a Happy Christmas and a far better New Year........try to stay safe everyone.<cracker><cracker><cracker><cracker><cracker><cracker>

I wish I didn't wish ill to any PM plym but I cannot help it with Boris. He lied about Brexit and the EU before the vote. He was opportunistic about getting the job he craved. He has botched just about everything he has touched in between including Covid 19 and has not tried to do the right thing just the popular one not what was needed. Because of the ineptitude thousands have died where maybe they need not have. Yes the buck stops there. I have no doubt he has also lied about the "great deal" we have supposedly done with Europe in the leaving document. Time will tell but lying is his habit and gullible fools will undoubtedly fall for it if true. I make no apology for being polar opposite to your way of thinking it is diversity that makes the World go around. It isn't personal.

I hope you and yours have all had as good a Christmas as you possible could under the circumstances and no doubt we will disagree again in the future. 3 points tomorrow is all that matter at the moment.......

3 pts tomorrow would brighten up the day considerably....my son and grandson are quietly confident of revenging the 1-0 cup defeat.....the league is more important than the cup as far as they are concerned....they arrived today bearing gifts from a socially correct distance...two Christmas meals and a few gifts for us.....we past over our gifts to them.....and waved good bye.

The carol line "bleak mid-winter" seems rather apt at the moment......

The Covid infection rate in Bromley Borough is 741 infections per 100,000.

That compares with Plymouth at 107 infections per 100,000.

The national average is 238 infections per 100,000.

These figures were for the week starting 14th to 20th of December.....(so could be higher at the moment).

Definately a case of bring on the Vaccine please as quickly as possible.

At the current rate of sticking the needle in it should take about 6 months to complete the first jabs so make that another 6 months to do the top up. This is due to the fantastic organisation of the people in charge. Boris give it to the Military and let them do what they do best. That's organise something that fecking works and carry it through not bollox it up.

A humbling thought of how to spend Christmas.

Britain's longest-serving volunteer has been stopped by pandemic safety rules from working her 92ND CONSECUTIVE YEAR at a Christmas shelter.

Peggy Maskrey, MBE, 100yrs old....helped at the Charles Thompson Mission in Birkenhead, Mersyside.

She began volunteering in 1928 with her mother and has worked every year since....including 91 Christmas Days....serving thousands of hot drinks and meals to the vulnerable.

But the mission has temporarily stopped elderly volunteers helping out because of Covid-19 fears......:emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow::emoticon-0139-bow:

The rate of vaccinations will increase when vaccines are cleared fir use which don't need deep freezing. These can be distributed to many more sites that don't have specialised storage facilities.

    At least, that's the theory.

Well no it comes from the scientists so it's factually correct. Whether Johnson and his merry band can yet cock it up remains to be seen.

Long term Covid-19 patients are being transferred from Kent to Bristol and Plymouth because of lack of bed space.

One specialist has gone as far a saying that people who don't obey the Covd-19 rules...will have blood on their hands if people continue dying.

Oh and by the way, they are also guilty of depriving people of their jobs bevause of lockdowns that wouldn't be necessary if they obeyed the rules.

The Met police broke up 50 new year parties last night issued 100's of fines plus two £10,000 fines for arranging large gatherings.

There was also two stabbings as well......if you miss out on being stabbed...just wait a few days you might be lucky enough to catch Covid-19.

    Maddness.....modern day Lemmings.

PS......norDistant have you noticed the prediction message you have ?

Mrs Plym and I boldly went for a walk yesterday...first time we had been out since Christmas Eve....and that was an exciting trip to the x-ray department of one of the smaller hospitals locally.....parked for two hours (as you generally need too)... and in and out and back in the car before the official appointment time had hardly started....rather miffed about the wasted unused parking time.....sorry I digress... a bit like a Ronnie Corbett sketch.

So our walk was rather busy with other walkers...but we zig-zagged down the road like you do these days trying to keep social distancing.

Walked around the circumference of the park near us... and had to pass the children's play area.....and this is where I get confused with tier 4 ruling.

The play area is fenced in....I assume to stop dogs from fouling the area.....probably about ten items for the kids to play on....meaning lots of rails, handles, seats and equipment to get touched and contaminated.

I roughly counted about forty kids and maybe nearly twenty adults in this area....it gave me the impression by the way that the children and adults were behaving like this was a Covid-19 free zone....it looked to me like a breeding ground from hell for the virus....all these people will eventually go back home and then be in contact with maybe another 30/40/50 other people....okay children have a very low chance of being ill with Covid....but it doesn't mean that they cannot pass it on to others.

Back in the spring with full lockdown this area and the 'Gym' area in the park were locked and taped off so they couldn't be used.....is this a concession under tier 4 that Covid-19 has given to humankind not too contaminate......no I don't think so.

In hindsight you wonder if the scientific experts and then of course the Government should have not put us straight into a full lock down.....with over 50,000 new cases and nearly 1000 daily deaths in the last two days with this new strain of Covid...it looks the obvious choice......are we all putting our eggs now into one basket and hoping we can vaccinate everyone as quickly as possible.....it will take months to achieve that.....and even after your first jab you will need between 14 and 21 days to gain any immunity.....this new year is still looking similar to last year regarding Covid-19.

    Local Stats
Bromley Borough (340,000 pop).....893 cases per 100,000.....2,968 cases in the last week 22nd/28th Dec that is plus 183 cases.....total cases to Jan 1st 13,870.....380 deaths up to Dec 18th.
