.A marvellous 100 metre women's final in Doha with Fraser-Pryce proving why she's the champion. A British record and silver medal for the new darlin of British athletics, Dina Asher-Smith. A shame it was in front of 3 paying spectators and a dog. These athletes deserve better. And don't get me started on air conditioning stadiums. All augurs well for the 2022 World Cup.
For the football World Cup they'll probably hold onto the passports of the poor bastards who've built the stadiums a little longer and make them watch the matches. In fact they'll probably do that in lieu of wages. The money that Qatar and other Middle Eastern countries have can buy the tournaments that Qatar they so desire but getting paying customers through the door is another... These World Championships, the World Cup as well, all taken for the big buck by the top dog authorities with little or no concern for the supporters of the events...
