They always say that the host nation,if not one of the recognised big hitters, needs a big win to set the whole tournament up, well beating the Irish will be a damn good start then...!! <applause> <ok>

Christian Coleman sizzles in the World Athletics 100m Final. 9:76. Coleman was charged with missing 3 WADA tests in a year. But according to Yahoo Sport, the USADA found that Coleman had no case to answer because it was later found that the three missing test's happened about 15 months apart, not 12.

A marvellous 100 metre women's final in Doha with Fraser-Pryce proving why she's the champion. A British record and silver medal for the new darlin of British athletics, Dina Asher-Smith. A shame it was in front of 3 paying spectators and a dog. These athletes deserve better. And don't get me started on air conditioning stadiums. All augurs well for the 2022 World Cup <doh>.

The money that Qatar and other Middle Eastern countries have can buy the tournaments that Qatar they so desire but getting paying customers through the door is another... These World Championships, the World Cup as well, all taken for the big buck by the top dog authorities with little or no concern for the supporters of the events...

For the football World Cup they'll probably hold onto the passports of the poor bastards who've built the stadiums a little longer and make them watch the matches. In fact they'll probably do that in lieu of wages.

Two shining stars in the Brits team Red in DAS and KJT. Lets hope they get to Tokyo in 2020 fit and healthy. And Laura Muir too, forgot her. 1500 metre final on Saturday. Love the 1500.

I'm a huge Naser fan Red, and hoped she'd win, but to be honest, I thought Miller-Uibo would beat her. I'm a happy man. :)

For the life of me, I can't get a full replay of the Men's 5000m, which is a real shame as it turned out to be a cracker. I think both Ingebrigsten and Berega let themselves down through inexperience. They are still babies with huge futures. They'll be in the thick of it in Tokyo. The Women's 5000m will probably be a cake walk for the the brilliant Sifan Hassan who'll be looking for the 5000m - 10000m double. She's far and away my favourite athlete.

Men's 5000m final. The whole race was wonderful, it's just too bad I can't get a full replay. (Same for the Women's 10000m.)

Was that the worst England display under Gareth Southgate? The midfield of Rice and Mount were totally ineffective and you saw players having a bad season at club level (particularly Rose and Maguire) looking completely devoid of confidence. Work to be done.
