GRAPHIC WANING. I though long and hard about whether I should post the following, and I'm not sure that in doing so, that I've done the right thing. I apologies if I've done wrong.

How sad is this? 22 year old Frenchman Anthoine Hubert lost his life yesterday in an horrific crash at Spa. His car was t-boned and torn in half. The poor man survived for an hour and twenty eight minutes. It's a very sad time for Anthoine's family and friends. <rose><rose><rose>

La Liga Champions - Athletico Madrid 14/1 Sky Bet

For those who like a longer-term punt .................... I've been very impressed by Athletico Madrid in their pre-season games, particularly their 7-3 drubbing of the old enemy Real (a game in which Diego Costa struck 4 times). Costa seems to be right back to his very best and with Joao Felix and Marco Llorente added to the squad they will not be dependent upon one man to score the goals (as they were in previous seasons with Griezmann). Simeone's side will once again be difficult to break down and won't concede many, and with Real Madrid looking to be going through another phase of self-destruct it could well be their city rivals Athletico who prove the biggest challenge to Barcelona. The Catalans are 4/6 favourites with Sky Bet for good reason but their defensive frailties remain and if Athletico can avoid defeat in their 2 matches against the reigning champs I think they could just nick the title.

Sitting pretty with 9 points from 3 games - the only team with 100% record and showed some character to come from 0-2 down against Eibar this evening.

7/1 now for the title (PP)

Warner's scores in this series: 2, 8, 3, 5, 61, 0 and 0...!!!!!

Seems like he hasn't got back what he had before his forced absence... Where Smiffy has gone completely mad since he's come back...

Crucial part of the match already at 34-2. You'd think England will need to break this partnership pretty quickly to prevent the match getting away from them.

I've just read that before the Lords test, the record for consecutive 50s stood at six. It was there that Steve Smith took the record to 7. And now with his 60 not out, he's extended that record to 8. He amazing to watch the way he trundles across in front of his stumps with most deliveries, and just seems to go on getting bat to ball. Maybe some day, somebody will drag him off to a Uni and run a series of tests on his reflexes and hand - eye coordination.

Cyc, he's frustrating to watch as he is so unorthodox but his style and technique is very much down to the make up of the bloke and as your hinting at he must have something different about him in his set up. His hand/eye coordination must be super quick, something that sets him apart...

One thing I have noticed, and it's costing Warner at the moment, how many batters are now trying to leave the ball outside the off stump by lifting their bats upwards as the ball is coming on to them. Warner has knicked off a couple of times, the Frenchman has missed bottom edging it on occasions and even one or two of our lot have adopted this technique... It's a Smiffy thing and his alone, but it shows that we all follow the leaders of your chosen sport if they become very successful at it...

This is Smith's eighth consecutive score of 75 or more in Ashes Tests. Four in 2017-18 series, four this year.

Previous Ashes record: 4, by Jack Gregory, all in the 1920-21 series, and Bill Lawry, spread over end of 1964 and start of 1965-66 series.[HASHTAG]#Ashes[/HASHTAG] [HASHTAG]#ENGvsAUS[/HASHTAG]

Will someone just shoot him...!!!

Not literally, obviously kids...<laugh><laugh><laugh>

Roy Keane reignites feud with Jonathan Walters: 'He's crying on TV about his family situation'

"Harry Arter went to Cardiff on loan, they got relegated," Keane said. "Wardy can't get in the Stoke team at the moment and they're down at the bottom of the league."
But Keane - who was speaking at a Cadbury's Off The Ball roadshow in Dublin - saved his most personal criticism for Walters, referencing his regular media appearances.
"He talks a good game," Keane said. "Imagine if he'd won a trophy. He goes on the TV about how he was harshly treated by me. He's crying on the TV about his family situation.
"Maybe he should lie low for a while. Have a look at his medals? That wouldn't take long. We got beaten by Wales. Jon played. Jon didn't have a good game. Wardy played, he didn't have a good game. They need to go back see how bad they were.

"Brian Clough. You're on about motivation. He punched me one time. He was upset. It was heated. He punched me. I remember thinking 'You're still a brilliant manager'. I came in the next day and trained. I didn't text somebody in the media. Or go on Ratsapp."

What a man, or ar5ehole, depending on your view...<laugh><laugh><laugh>

Steve Smith's last 12 innings against England: 143, 141*, 40, 6, 239, 76, 102*, 83, 144, 142, 92, 101*.

Oh my word... This scores are just crazy...!!??

Please take a look at when he only got 6, it must be a freak dismissal...<laugh><laugh><laugh>

More stats.

No batsman in the history of the game has scored more runs in a eight straight innings that Smith. 39, 76, 102*, 83, 144, 142, 9, & 211.

Smith has now scored 6 Ashes centuries in England. No English player has scored more than 5 hundreds at home.

Smith is the only batsman in Ashes history to score 500 runs in three consecutive Ashes series.

His average for this series presently stands at 193.

**** the cricket, we bathed in the glory of a famous win for a good few days but this average Aussie team (granted with one outstanding batsman) is better than our below average team. I suspect even Stokes may run out of magic tricks in the next couple of days. It is Manchester in September though so it should rain for at least one of the 2 remaining days. Precipitation seems to be our best hope to extend home misery to the Oval. The Surrey track is usually decent for batters so god knows how we'll get Smith out there.
Anyway on to the tennis and I see Serena is through to another US Open final. I think to make it interesting the authorities should invite last year's ump to sit in the high chair.
