Day 7 of the May Basho. The Yokozuna Hakohu is one impressive individual. And the Georgian Tochinoshin get's a walk over as he presses on for that promotion.

Like spoilt kids ..................... and the excuse of being so disappointed that they simply didn't think about it is the biggest load of old bollocks I have ever read. Poor losers. If Herr Rummenigge has a shred of decency he will come out and publicly lambast manager and players alike .......................... but he won't. FC Bayern being successful is more important to him than things like good sportsmanship, respect and fair play. May it come back to haunt him.

I switched off immediately after Frankfurt's third goal so I was unaware of the unsporting and poor behaviour from the players and staff of FC Bayern. In my opinion this is a f****n' disgrace and should be looked into immediately by Hoeness and Rummenigge. I can accept the disappointment of the VAR decision as we benefited from this system a couple of times at the start of the season. 'We' have no divine right to victory in any competition or football match and it would seem that the fairly straightforward triumphs in the last six Bundesliga championships has infected/affected some of the players.

'BayernZone', a website I view and sometimes contribute to seems to be full of derogatory comments about Ribery and Lewandowski . Such comments may be deserved however you would have to be blind and blinkered not to see that, in four recent games (Real Madrid x 2, Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt), our defenders have made at least six individual errors! Added to these individual f**k-ups there is, apart from Kimmich, an unbelievable lack of pace (Hummels seemed to be running in reverse for Frankfurt's second last night) at the back for a major football team.

Looking forward to many signings this summer! Despite the crap served up in the Scottish Premiership I would certainly like 'the boys' to have a wee look at Moussa Dembele at Celtic Glasgow. This twenty one year old has scored goals in the Champion's League and has eight goals from twelve appearances with the French under 21's.

Roll on the 17th June and Die Mannschaft's opener in the World Cup!

Cyc, you'll be able to buy Windsor Castle if that comes up!

BK, can't see Löw's squad winning anything this time, but we'll see. I will back Belgium, jeez they've got some class players.

Day 8, May Basho. Some really amazing bouts where wins were snatched from the jaws of defeat.

No, hope this doesn't mark me down as a rascist (which I am certainly not), but quite honestly they all look the same to me. <whistle>
Seriously, France is certainly a top contender. As for England, Southgate has done his best with what's available, but they must win those first two games as I don't fancy them against Belgium in the last group game. Wish to hell the tournament was not in Russia, but what the hell, so be it. Seems all of Scotland will be on any bloody team but England, but you know, I could not care less, the English are used to that and has no effect on us at all! Honestly! :emoticon-0100-smile

You underestimate the loyalty to the British crown and state exhibited by the great majority of the fans of Glasgow Rangers. As for myself my white, green and grey tops representing your adopted homeland are already laid out; some required a wee soak as they seemed to have attracted food and drink stains from 2016.

Having studied the groups and the routes subsequent to the 'foreplay' your match against Belgium is very significant. Winning the group could give England a more than 50:50 (in my estimation) chance of reaching the semi finals. As for your 'fancy' Belgium I look at them in the same light as their close neighbours, The Netherlands. I feel they promise a great deal with their obviously talented pool of players however I believe England will achieve at least a draw in the final group match.

Talking of The Netherlands this brings me to one of the big bugbears of my association football history. In the United Kingdom it was assumed that The Netherlands would roll over West Germany in the 1974 World Cup final. This view was based upon the British media salivating about the names in the Dutch team. Had these idiots never heard of or seen Beckenbauer, Hoeness, Muller, Maier, Bonhof, Overath, the unbelievably under rated Schwarzenbeck and the greatest of them all; Paul Breitner.

    Monday morning rant over!

    Toodle pip.

Day 9 May Basho. Can the Georgian Tochinoshin keep the run going. Talk around the forums is that he's looking the goods for the promotion to Ozeki, the second highest ranking in the sport. Only the Yokozuna stand above them.

I like the respect and gentleness shown by the winners. Nice touch.

    May Basho, day 11.

The third division wrestler Tochinoshin leads the two Yokozuna Hakuho and Kakuryu by a single win.

Day 12 of 15 from the May Basho. Things are heating up as many are seeking to avoid a losing tournament. To win more than 8 of the 15 bouts is much sought after. The race for the Emperor's Cup is on in earnest. It looks as though the race is now down to just three, the Sekiwake Tochinoshin and the two Yokozuna Hakuho and Kakuryu.

Just a quick heads up on some of what Sumo is about. The top competition is made up of 42 competitors who are ranked in 5 divisions. Yokozuna, Oseki, Sekiwaki, Komusubi and Maegashira. Of the 42 fighters, just about all are of the Maegashira rank. The are only 2 Yokozuna, 2 Sekiwake and 2 Komusubi presently competing in this Basho. Of the 3 fighters mentioned above, the Sekiwake Tochinoshin has had just 1 Championship victory, while the Yokozuna
Kakuryu has won 4 Championships and the living legend Hakuho has won a record 40 Championships in the top division. Day 12 saw the rampant Sekiwaki Tochinoshin take on the Yokozuna Hakuho in the final match of the day. Some bout it turned out to be. The crowd went crazy.

Day 13 sees the race for the Emperor's Cup blown wide open. If things play out in a certain way, day 15 could see a three way tie for first. If it's a two way result, they fight off, but what of a 3 way?

The day 14 results set up an exciting day tomorrow. I won't give things away, but the final credits will explain it all. The serious contenders fought the last two bouts. Amazing stuff.
