That's a coincidence! It also looks remarkably like myself in an 'Irish' pub in Koln on Tuesday evening watching FC Bayern beating Seville in Andalucia. It suited this contrary Scottish/Bavarian gentleman that I was the only individual supporting FCB as all Germans (apart from FCB fans) absolutely despise 'my boys'. Oooops nearly forgot that an absolutely charming and attractive barmaid also wanted Die Bayern to be victorious; this, she confided in yours truly, was only due to lustful thoughts about Robert Lewandowski!

SH will confirm the feelings about my beloved Bayern Munchen by the fans of other clubs throughout his adopted homeland.

Geez these bike boys can piss along. In the qualifying runs just completed for the Men's Sprint. Matt Glaetzer stopped the clock for the flying 200m in 9.583 seconds at an average speed of 75.133kph. Those bikes take some serious pounding.

And the **** has hit the fan in the Men's Sprint heats. The fastest qualifier Glaetzer is beaten by the slowest qualifier Sahrom in the first of the heats.

And England's Owen ranked 4 is beaten by 13 Paul from Trinidad and Tobago. Holy Dooley.

PS. Paul has just been rubbed out, and now 12 has beaten 5.

Due to a gearbox change, Lewis Hamilton has received a 5 grid penalty for the Bahrain GP. I guess that gives Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel a better chance to extend his points lead over the champion.

English ladies Thornhill and Scott have just taken a huge 1.3 seconds off their own 1000m tandem time trial world record. Brilliant stuff. <applause>

    GRAPHIC CONTENT.

As we all know, motor racing can be a dangerous game, and not just for the drivers. In yesterday's Bahrain GP, a Ferrari pit crew member suffered an horrific leg break when Kimi Raikkonen was mistakenly given the green light to leave the pits after a tyre change. One of the gents on the back, left wheel had not been given the chance to clear the car before it was released. His left leg wore the full brunt of the massive back tyre. Dreadful stuff.

The England - Jamaica netball semi final was an absolute classic. Never ever watched netball in my life before but that was brilliant sport. And the English lass dunked the winner in the last second.

Well, that looked like a team that just gave up. Borussia Monchengladbach were a disgrace to themselves and to a pretty decent away support who had travelled a fair distance to Munich.

After the classy Australian closing ceremony I found it somewhat embarrassing when the England show was kicked off with a boring rapper. Not exactly the best advertisement

While on the games, some of the on field music they played when a country did well, was a bit odd. It was like who ever was in charge has little idea when it came to selections. Time and again, when England tasted some success, the PA system would pump out as some sort of celebration, the Clash's London Calling. Didn't they bother listening to the lyrics?

    Brilliant song though.

London calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared, and battle come down
    London calling to the underworld
Come out of the cupboard, you boys and girls
London calling, now don't look to us
Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust
London calling, see we ain't got no swing
Except for the ring of that truncheon thing

The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Meltdown expected, the wheat is growing thin
Engines stop running, but I have no fear
'Cause London is drowning, and I live by the river

London calling to the imitation zone
Forget it brother, you can go it alone
London calling to the zombies of death
Quit holding out, and draw another breath
London calling, and I don't wanna shout
But while we were talking, I saw you nodding out
London calling, see we ain't got no high
Except for that one with the yellowy eyes

The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
'Cause London is drowning, and I live by the river

The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
'Cause London is drowning, and I live by the river

    Now get this...
London calling, yes, I was there too
And you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!
London calling at the top of the dial
And after all this, won't you give me a smile?
    London calling...

I never felt so much alike alike alike alike...

A wee bit like Reagan or was it one of the Bush dolts using Springsteen's 'Born In The USA' as their theme/walk on track!

  20. It was Reagan. I liked that Children in Need ad a few years back where they had loads of celebs covering Lou Reed's Perfect Day - you'd think someone would know <laugh>
