I like certain kinds of dogs, huskies, samoyeds, pugs come to mind. I like all cats and similarly pretty much all animals, would like a chinchilla one day.

So, it's OK to send somebody to prison if the torture another person - let's say a child. They should be helped to overcome their problems and returned to society. After all prison is not supposed to be about punishment these days.

However hurt a ****ing dog and you're liable to be shot with a bolt gun and that's supposed to be acceptable?

No wonder this country is in such a ****ed-up state <grr>

I was talking about all crimes, the punishments in this country are far too lenient and in no way a deterrent. The torture comment was a piss take!
 
G, It was an just the straw that broke the camels back and you got in the way. So to that degree - I'm sorry.

But the essential element still stands. How is it right that you can condone people suggesting major acts of violence when they would not/have not demanded the same redress if the harm had been done to a human?

Don't know how you equate opposing the needless and illegal cruelty of two dogs as being supportive of torturing children, but in an increasingly hysterical thread, in which I myself have been - up till now - as guilty as anyone, you've topped the blouse attack table for ridiculous analogies there, buster.

**** off drongo! You were the first to suggest that the farmer should face physical violence - well actually more as what you intended would have resulted in death. Now if that is not so way over the top then I don't know what is! Look to yourself before you start accusing me of going OTT.
The bloody farmer faced charges in court and received a penalty. Now you may think that the penalty given was too light. If so appeal against it's leniency. But if you then go on to advocate violence then expect to be ridicled for your hypocrisy.

Twice in this thread you've drivelled on about children. This topic was **** all to do with children, but you parade your hysteria here like some post 9/11 Congressman trying to get through some long-held bugbear on a tide of emotion. If you do care so much about the kiddies do this - sell your car and never use one again.
