I cannot worry over something we have no control over. There will be many millions of people hoodwinked by the media I am certain of that.

I know nothing about the Koreans at all but I have learnt very quickly in my short life not to exactly believe or trust the USA about anything

Insulated here what more would it be than to most other than a HD war game? It will get whipped into a point whereupon people talk of evil forces
and dismiss nations of millions of souls as one word nasties

Very much doubt if it catches and holds the thoughts of those on their way to Tescos to buy more than they need or others taking full advantage of the wonderful Easter sale at Halfords where there are many items most of which are made in the regions closer to any potential firing line than us.

I can't see sales of the Euro draw going down much ? What would be the point at winning a fortune during World War 3 ?

Its been escalating every day, the US flew stealth bombers over SK today. Youve got a nutter on one side and the most evil country in the world on the other side and they only reason they havent invaded is that NK have no natural resources they can steal.

Its the 1st time in my lifetime that Ive thought we could be days or weeks away from a possible nuclear war.

Let me get this clear which one is evil and which one is a 'nutter' Kim or Obama? or are you saying the entire US or NK nation is 'evil'?

Im not sure China would go against NK, NK is a handy buffer between them and the US. I know the Chinese would in no way allow the yanks to use nukes or occupy NK. We could see China fighting the US in NK if the NK army is wiped out. Whatever happens, its not going to be as easy as the nuke em brigade think. You just have to look at a map to know nuking back isnt an option.

NK can't afford to piss off China, the Chinks will allow them so much before slapping them down. Kim-Jong Un is just continuing their long tradition of threats but China will have the last word...

The US have given NK so much money over the years to try and help them and keep the peace.
The NK government have spent that money by trying to become a stronger force in the world while the majority of the country are starving and very poor.
The US have recently made sanctions against NK because of their nuclear tests, long range missiles and threats to SK.
They are unhappy about these sanctions and have responded with expected threats to get the sanctions lifted.

Or do you mean ............... keep the pace! The good ole U. S. of A have been known to help out a foe before changing tact.

Both North and South Korea wish for peace and reunification but sadly are pawns of US and Chinese foreign policy. China does not, unlike the US, have a history of colonial expansion and agression but rather one of trade and economic influence. The legacy of this is clearly shown by the Chinese communities theoughout the world but in especially in East and South East Asia.

War is not in the interest of the PRC, DPRK and South Korea. As for being in the interest of the US who knows, there is their debt to China, Chinese purchase of resources worldwide, the lack of competivity of US exports (arms aside) perhaps.

Any US strike against the North would result in a massive (unstoppable) old fashioned heavy artillery attack on Seoul and the industrial heartland which would change forever the economic balance of the world. Neither China nor Russia would accept a ground invasion of the North. The US knows all this well and isn't suicidal despite the influence of the Religious Right.

As DT says, it's just sabre rattling and nothing much will happen. Korea, both North and South, is a beautiful country with perhaps the most beautiful women in the world. Let's all live in peace, who wants war.

Agree with most of your comments there, 'Imaz' with the exception of the prettiest girls in the world. It's pretty hard to go pass a bronzed Aussie chicky babe in a bikini. Hoochie-Mamas !!!!!!

I often have tears over so many issues

Yet if I walked into any high street I am guessing in interview I would get 80%
Nuke them all!

I can sum it all up IMO... Very easily

**** that for a game of soldiers

North Korea are sabre rattling mate, the North Korean military is antiquated and inferior; it wouldn't last long against a U.S.-led counter-attack. No matter how badly such a war would go for South Korea or the United States, it would almost certainly end with the regime’s total destruction. Provocations and threats do serve N.Korea's interests, even if no one takes those threats very seriously. It helps to rally North Koreans, particularly the all-important military, behind the leader who has done so much to impoverish them. It also helps Pyongyang to control the regional politics that should otherwise be so hostile to its interests.[/QUOTE]

These are the key points. Spot on IMO. All posturing. Not to worried about this region. The next major war will be in the Middle East and its coming to a cinema near you very soon.

Like China Iran too has no history of military expansion and of invading its neighbours. The Iran/Iraq war was the result of an Iraqi invasion that resulted in 750,000 Iranian deaths.

The real crazies lie elsewhere: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samson_Option

Do yourself a favour and use the ignore button <ok>

Well that's a pretty selective view of history. A few Tibetans may debate your benign view of China's imperialist policy (though getting rid of a medieval theocracy can't be all bad), as may the various countries debating ownership of islands in the South China Sea, which are nowhere near South China. As for the significant Muslim populations of west China, obviously self determination is a privilege they don't need according to the Han Chinese. The many African nations 'benefitting' from Chinese infrastructure support may also think again when they realise they have lost control of their own natural resources. I'd say that China is the most aggressively imperialist nation around today, they are just clever about the way they do it.

Admittedly Iran, as Persia, got its imperial phase over and done with some time ago, only to pioneer 'back to the future' state building by adopting .........a medieval theocracy. You can post as many links to anti Israeli articles (and I am no supporter of Israel) as you like, but given the regular threats of genocide and total destruction coming from Iran, it may not be surprising that they have a plan to stop this happening. Although Iran's capability to deliver to its threats must be pretty questionable. Poor Iranians, their own regime is dragging them back to the Stone Age, no one else needs to do much except let it rot.

The usual over generalised anti -Americanism seems to dominate here, sure they are far from perfect, are definitely self interested and have on occasion abused their status as world's most powerful nation. As of course the British (of if you prefer English) did when we were top dog. But you'll be begging to have them back when the Chinese take over. And any one who truly believes that the North Korean people would not benefit from removal of the Kim dynasty, which routinely deliberately allows large sections of its own population to starve, really has no respect for human life or dignity.

The US, Count the number of wars Afghanistan, NK, Iraq and Iran have been involved in and then look at the US. Someone mentiioned the NK starving its people but theres tens of millions starving in the US.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7106726.stm There was a story on the BBC about children starting in the US but this was the only one I could find, its a few years old but still shocking

The US has no history of wanting peace. No other state has such such a history in modern times, the facts speak for themselves: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_United_States_military_operations

It also makes the laugh that they trained and armed the taliban to fight the Russians. So then they were freedom fighters, suddenly they become terrorists when they fight a different country. ****ing hypocrites.

Im sickened that we allow ourselves to get led around by them like a poodle.
