OK. An easy one - without googling or looking on a map.

Which city from the following is the furthest South ?
New York
Lisbon
Naples
Athens
Ankara
Will accept only the first 3 answers, and then set another if nobody gets it.

Talking about Athens Georgia...REM were one of the greatest bands ever to grace this planet...In the UK, what was their highest charting hit

Now this is irritating. I looked them up after you said on an earlier question that they hadn't had a number 1 and I can't remember.... How about Happy, Shiny People? (on the basis that I think it was their worst single and my taste and the general public's don't coincide too often)

Shiny happy people....nope!

And the band didn't like it either. But as you say the public did...but it was not the highest charter

No correct answer yet.... a clue.................

REM were mainly a album band...............we the fans bought their albums and so many of the fans already had the songs before they were released as singles (well that is my explanation anyway)

So it was a song that wasn't on an album? If so, I don't know their work well enough for that to help.

I hear the great outdoors calling, there are a few beers to be drunk and a barbecue to be eaten. :emoticon-0167-beer:

No....sooper, All great songs but no
Another clue......it was a song they recorded for a soundtrack....and so was never on their real albums (till "greatest hits" and "best of" were produced)....So it was publisised with the film, it was REM-catchy and the diehard fans (like me) had to buy it as single.....and it wasn't "man on the Moon".

First in can take over...as I didn't expect this question to last this long
